Oliver Burke similar to Steve Kindon?

The type of footballer Oliver Burke reminds me of Steve Kindon (his nickname was "The Flying Wardrobe"). Both are big, strong and very fast. The former Burnley, Wolves and Huddersfield winger scored spectacular goals but also missed quite a number of easy chances

Yes, we were winning 2-0 (Hatton, Wiggan) before Kindon came on. Blades fans chanted "Fat B******, Fat B******" at Kindon but he shut them up by scoring twice. When we played at home to Wolves in March 1976, he rounded Jim Brown and in front of the empty net, he slipped and the ball went wide, we all laughed but Kindon had the last laugh by scoring twice in their 4-1 win

His stature and start to his Lane career reminds me of Caolan Lavery in more recent history.

Lavery also was a shorter, strong player with pace (admittedly not as much as Burke) who also looked clumsy in possession and missed a number of easy chances in his first few games.

After breaking his duck Lavery was developing into a decent striker before that unfortunate injury at Oldham ended his season and ultimately his Blades career. Hopefully Oli’s first goal on Saturday will give him the same confidence boost that Caolan’s did 4 years ago.

Burke is an enigma. I think there is a footballer in there and if we can bring it out in him that would be a fantastic achievement. I have enjoyed watching him this season...as the lads were saying on Blades Pod he is our only ’fun’ player and would love to see him fulfil his potential.

Steve Kindon was, probably still is, a great after dinner speaker. And there aren't that many of those.

From what I remember he didn't even take up football until he was about 15 years old as he was a rugby player till then

Give Burke a chance! Highly rated at Forest, the fans were furious when he was sold to Leipzig for £13M when he was a teenager. WBA bought him for £15M. Something went wrong there but Wilder sees something in him. He is much better than Callum Robinson.

Charlton and Hudds were both up near the top and usually 3 points from those two games would have been seen as a good haul, however it felt like we chucked a point away v Hudders. I had to wear braces (on my teeth) around that time, so I could do a mean Steve Kindon impression that season

Funnily enough that Wolves defeat was one of my first ever United games, although I can't remember very much about the game, certainly not the Kindon miss, I do vaguely recall Jimmy Johnstone scoring for us though.

Not a bad comparison , although I would have Kindon as being both taller and stronger than Burke . If the latter can get near to being nearly as effective as big Steve I would be more than happy .

For me , he was one of those players of whom you went to the ground hoping and praying that his name was not on the team sheet and knowing that if it was , there was every likelihood that he would cause some serious damage - the sort of feeling I have today about Adama Traore who is probably the nearest to him that I’ve seen.

I’ve got a lot of time for Burke . He’s by no means the finished article at the moment but I have a feeling that he could develop into being a key player for us and even at his present level , he certainly causes a bigger problem for defenders than any of our other strikers .
