Sky News Stated Premier League

The way it’s spreading Premier League will be swamped with postponed games

When football came back after lockdown v.1, rules were drawn up outlawing hugging, shaking hands, patting each other, gobbing, and all the things which players do to congratulate themselves and each other. This lasted about a week. I watched MOTD this weekend and it was like Covid didn't exist. Some players and managers clearly aren't giving a shit, which isn't helping them, team mates or society in general. There are noble and notable exceptions (well, there's one I can think of), but whilst others are setting a crap example in all respects, I just can't see the value of carrying on. If kids can't go to school why should football be able to continue? Tin hat on!!

It is shite state of affairs when you cannot see family members that don`t live with you yet footballers can gather in a dressing room with circa 20 others (coaches etc) then go onto a field and grapple and sweat (in some cases) and spit then ask another person to pick up their kit to wash. I dont care if they have 10 tests that are negative you can get the virus 1 hour after a test.

Clever by the government.
The most likely to cause trouble over a lockdown with the police would not be academics or grannies but fans of sport .
Sky can rake in the money and give the fans their sport as long as they are kept apart and happy inside their homes.

Tin hat on in response to your point - would we have made the same point for suspending/cancelling in March 2020?

Much faster spreading infection strain though 70 per cent more they say
Madness allowing 300 in one place but have a maximum of 6 at home
Many argued we closed football down too late last time. Should redeem themselves and end it now

The bad news is the government says football can continue.
The good news is this government u turn on everything.

Typical
We're doing well and football gets suspended, breaks our rhythm and takes our little advantages like support and training together out of the equation.

We're doing shit and an even more dangerous strain is wreaking havoc and football can carry on.

The precedent was set last season.
There may be a temporary delay at one point, but they will be forced to finish this season before starting the next.

The Club will want to finish the season, otherwise the financial implications will be huge, and was a big factor in why the precedent was set as it was last season.
Pull the plug on the season, you pull the plug on the finances from the TV money.

Cup competitions, both domestically and in Europe, will be cancelled first, as well as the Euros........
So any delay will just be putting off the inevitable.

Wont cancel the league cup both semis next 2 nights then just the final to play.
But the league can't be decided on one third of a season

Dutch and others voided their season
We should void this one . It's like when the war stopped it.. there's thousands losing their lives.

Voiding the season to avoid relegation is not a legitimate reason.
The season will be, quite correctly, completed.

Would we
Whatever outcome for any club is surely secondary to the nation's well being

There's very limited time between now and may to complete an already over tight schedule. More and more games are getting called off.

Plus it's not really football without fans ...well .....is it

Do people really want to watch this sterile shite their forcing on us

Look I know we are in a bad position

But I think its more important it's voided as its a fucking awful product we are accepting
Its nothing like football
No atmosphere. No passion . Goals met with utter silence

I used to watch 50 hours of football a week . I watch us out of loyalty and on the odd occasions we've scored just said yes where as I used to leap in the air

Its bland unentertaining shite

End it now restart when fans can attend

FOOTBALL IS NOTHING WITHOUT FANS

So why are you also claiming this? - "But the league can't be decided on one third of a season"

Plus the league didn't finish until the end of July last year, so I don't understand why you believe it has to end in May.

The virus is far more understood now, we have the testing capacity to fulfill all requirements, the league is in a far better position that last season, and will probably finish this season on time.

Why are you so desperate to watch a relegation season live?
