Disappointment, frustration and emotions aside (and if you had to stick £1,000 of your own money on it) where do you stand?

Put £20 on us not winning a game this season.

Will get £800 if it transpires.

Unfortunately Sky Bet set a maximum stake cap of 40-1 or else I'd put a hundred on it.

Don't think any betting companies would take bets on us going down?

If I gave you evens for relegation, would you stick your £1,000 on?
Not being pedantic mate, just trying to gauge how many, if push came to shove, are sure enough that they would be willing to risk a grand on it as things stand.

Hi Stegosaurus here

More chance of Shergar popping up at the lane than us beating the drop.

We need a miracle, and with Brewster and McBurnie and Burke leading the charge .... its not gonna happen

Relegation is certain now. If I wasn’t so risk averse I’d definitely put a grand on us being relegated!

A more interesting debate would be will we beat Derby’s record low points total.

That one I can see us just about squeezing past, but wouldn’t put money on it.

If you asked this question last week think we had a chance of staying up.but palace game put it into perspective .no drive.no leadership devoid of ideas totally when we make it into opponens half .even if we put early crossess in box nobody in there .maybe 1 and 3 defenders .thats our trouble we try to defend to much and are settling for a 0-0 draw so yes cant see any other way out .

I put a tenner on us to survive at 6/1 out of sheer hope more than anything About four games ago. I can’t see us winning all season though so that’s unlikely to come in!

I think unless there’s a dramatic change of form and teams around us drop loads of points then it’s about 99% certain we’re going down.

We’re in need a miracle territory now however you spin it.

Am I reading this wrong? Is there a single contributor who would argue against us being relegation certainties?

I don’t think we’ll beat Derby’s total now. I’d consider that a success for this season! :)

We've got 29 points from the last 38 games. Scored 26, conceded 53.

A long term rot has set it and we have a season of evidence that it's unlikely to change. It's getting worse if anything.

Also, you’ve generously offered us evens, I’m not putting a grand on it when the actual odds are 1/25 🤣

But there is no risk if it's certain. Fancy moving to the 'Leave it in the bank for now' option?! ;)

That's come down, in got 66/1 two weeks ago

Moved out of the bottom three and still not confident of staying up? What type of supporter are you Steggy?!

I rarely gamble these days but the only thing that will stop us going down is a season cancellation.

Although I voted 'No', I still hold out hope. This window needs to be massive for us. The right recruitment could give us a push and some belief. It's just a real shame that 3 of our next 4 games are Spurs, Manchester and Manchester. Even if we were doing ok, I would expect nil points from those 3 games 😐

I still live in hope.

All we have to do is climb this mini league20210103_172425.jpg
We could go into week 26 on 2 points
Win the last 12 and stay up with 38 points
Until that cut off point we are still in with a chance

Looks more probable we will go down
But why give up while there's a chance

No matter how strange the likelihood

If it's possible to lose 18 of 20 surely it's possible to win 12 of 19

While ever it's possible you try to do it

Hi Sportbilly here,

Shergar probably ended up in a tin of fray bentos corned beef, therefore, pretty good chance he could turn up at the lane!

If only we had a prime Carl Shutt upfront to guarantee safety eh?!

None of us can effect anything, other than our own emotions.

Common sense says we’re all but relegation certainties. I can’t fight that.

I would expect the players to fight to the last breath.

Relegated teams often start winning once technically relegated. We did in 75-76.

I’d be interested to know what the odds on us not keeping a clean sheet in the league all season are.

If we were in a normal economic situation yes I would bet that. I hardly ever bet, once or twice a year at most.

If I had a grand spare I think I'd happily lump on us going down this season. If I had 5 grand spare I think I'd do it lol.

That's Shergar there. We're going to beat the drop!!

I’m hoping they’ll show us that fight by playing with more urgency than they have when we’ve been behind so far this season. The fight to win games seems to have gone. The players are playing just to lose by the odd goal and not get spanked by 4/5/6 from what I can tell. That might be tested with the few fixtures after the Newcastle game, if those teams get out of 2nd year.
