It would be absolutely fantastic if, for possibly the first time ever, the fates conspired in favour of our club.

Defeats like yesterday's against spiv clubs like Crystal Palace, are the precisely the reason why I wouldn't have any embarrassment whatsoever should 'events' save us. The Gaffer described Palace as "an established Premier League". Yet it is a club that twice went into administration because they have consistently lived beyond their means. They probably still do, judging by the calibre of player that they manage to keep at that hole.

Then you have other clubs, like Leicester, who have managed to climb to a level above their historic station having taken advantage of the administration route or Wolves, Villa, Bournemouth and others who played fast and loose with financial rules in the Championship and got away with it to prosper.

So, why should Sheffield United, who conspicuously play by the rules, feel any embarrassment at all should the wheel of fortune for once - just once - turn in our favour. Personally, I would laugh my head off...

I think the Premier League already decided that if season abandoned that things would be decided by average points per game. So would make no real difference except put us out of our misery perhaps.

No. Financially it would be stupid. Also other clubs have stayed in this division through far more nefarious and shameful means West Ham for one and Villa last year where we played a game under different circumstances than every other game played that year in the same competition.
