Morning chaps.

As ever, Foxy and I will be at the Meet the Manager Q&A tomorrow. It is being broadcast live on BladesPlayer for all those who have subscribed, but Foxy and I have got the go-ahead to sit in with laptops tomorrow so as well as updates via Twitter and Facebook, we will be keeping a running thread on the forum to bring you the key snippets. Apologies in advance for any dodgy typing!

Along with that, we've also been asked to gather some questions from those unable to attend. All the tickets are now gone so if you've missed out yet had a question you wanted to ask either Micky Adams or Alan Cork, pop it in this thread and we'll pass them on :)

We'll be watching the forum throughout the event for any questions which arise from BladesPlayer listeners or indeed, from people who are following our updates to try and make this Q&A a little more interactive and inclusive of those unable to attend than previous ones.

So for the time being, add your comments to this thread and keep an eye on the forum from 18:00 tomorrow :)

Over and out.

Meet the Manager Q&A - discussion posts

Given a few quotes from Adams recently about not knowing who the "signings" are (the development squad players), how closely is he working with Pemberton in order to make sure that we don't end up in a similar situation next year - loads of loan players and five right backs (Parrino, Kozluk, Lowton, Calve and France).

I'm genuinely hopeful about the future given all the noises about the U18s and the move away from journeymen in the reserves towards young players with potential but they still have to be given opportunities in the first team (which it looks like will happen).

Have you been given money to spend? Are you going to make any perm signings? A midfielder and left winger would nicely finish off your good recruiting so far

Thanks Linz

Does he expect anymore new players coming into the club before the end of the transfer window?

Will he be appointing an assistant manager to work with him as well as Corky.

Does he expect to make a lot of changes to personnel in the summer?

Will he be looking towards the lower leagues for bargains?

Does he believe in fast-tracking Academy players to give them first team experience - if they are good enough?

Whats your vision for the Micky Adams era at Sheffield United Football Club?

One for Corky, How about not shaving your face until we reach the magic 50 point mark?

One for Micky Adams - Whilst we have had three 'managers' this season the players MUST shoulder some of the blame for our abysmal performances. Despite our small squad we still have a substantial wage bill so obviously the players are on extremely good wages - what is being done to motivate these 'superstars' Most pundits are saying that Sheffield United are too good to go down - is this the feeling in the dressing room because it appears so when they stroll around on the pitch!

1.Robbie Savage has gone into print praising your football philosophy. In a nutshell, high levels of fitness coupled with passing football played on the ground rather than on the air. Is Robbie wrong? Leaving aside the urgency of our current plight, what is your vision for SUFC?

2. Are you impressed with Pemberton's aproach to the academy. Do you agree with Trevor Birch when he speaks of a seamless approach from Academy to first team?

3. Do you think any of our current squad have simply been at the club too long? Would a change (in the Summer) benefit both player and club? [Yes, I admit it, this is code for 'Please Please Micky, Get rid of Montgomery and Quinn!']

1) What are Micky’s thoughts on the Development Squad? ? Is he concerned that spending on “Development” players will reduce the funds available to him for the first team? Will he have any input into the “Development” players being signed for this or is it solely John Pemberton’s area? Do he and Pembo have similar thoughts on players and tactics?

2) Assuming all the players we currently have on loan are successful between now and the end of the season. Which would we realistically be able to sign on a permanent basis? I.e. Which out of Bent, Lowry, Mattock, Bartley, Parrino, Calve and Nosworthy are either out of contract or within our price range and wage structure?

"What incentives are you going to give us fans to renew our season tickets for the next season - seeing as though we've been watching hoofball - failing most of the time. Are you hoping to bring in players which are going to pass it around on the floor or just play direct football? Can you give me and plently of other blades a reason to renew our season tickets for next season?"

Adams. Who's the best player you've ever managed and why?
Adams. Who was your favourite United player when you were a supporter?

Cork. Have you ever struck a ball better than the thunderbolt at Wembley against the Pigs?

Please explain the Leon Britton transfer.

Please say when our wage bill will be such that we no longer have to sell players.

How many of our own players will be in our squad next season (assuming we survive)?

Before anyone else (mentioning no names) - who owns the lease of BDTBL? :)

---------- Post added at 05:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:09 PM ----------

How likely is it that some of your loans can become permanent deals (assuming they do well)?

Just an addition to the development squad questions - How does Micky and SUFC hope to develop young development players, when the frequency an competitivness of reserve team games is so inconsistent. Those players inbetween the first team and academy are likley to suffer as they can go for long periods without competitive football.

---------- Post added at 07:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------

Do we expect anymore fringe Estudientes players to join SUFC ? As Parrino is now doing well and so is Morales in Hungary.

Are we planning on restructuring our scouting network as for the past few years it has been dreadful?
What type of player will you be looking to recruit in the summer? Young hungry players or tried & tested experienced players?
What Derby win against the PIGs is your favourite of all time?

Micky: Assuming all players are fit, do you have your preferred strongest team and formation in mind?

Corky: Did you see my "Grand Old Duke of Cork" banner at Wembley? Best ever seen at the old stadium ... apparently

1: What is your preferred formation and if able to use that formation what philosophy to be used with it ie 4-5-1 defensive 5 in midfield to not concede or 4-3-3 attacking or a more balanced 4-4-2.

2:as a blade, does it anger you that the s6 tax dodgers play foul, get support from mp's, media and even banks then come out smelling of roses when our blades play fair and end up getting (allegedly) FA upset with us over tevez affair and refs and other officials seeming to favour any team playing us ie 11-12 penalties against us so far this season and only (biased maybe) 2 that should have been?

3: does KMc move managers on when they start asking awkward questions like "where did the £11 million from the kyles transfer go?" or "please sir can we have more players (ala Oliver Twist)"

MunXy

Won't be able to make it tonight, other stuff happening around the family has taken precident, shame I enjoyed the last one and really looked forward to this as well. I'll check everything out later on.

Realistically, how many players do you see stepping up from the Acadamy to teh matchday squad in teh next year, 2years,. 3 years?

500 POSTS - woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!

Chaps.

For ease of Foxy and I trying to get your pre-event questions asked, keep you updated and pass on any reaction-questions, we'll lock this thread later so we only have the two threads to keep an eye on.

I have several questions for Micky:

Does he plan to bring in more players by the end of January?
(if so) then whom, or what type of player? What positiion? Experience vs youth etc.

Is Adams worried about our current predicament and does he think the current squad is good enough for survival?

Can we realistically expect us to challege for promotion within 3 years?

What has Adams learnt since his days at Leicester?

Has he been told that there will have to be more downward pressure of the wage bill?
(follow up) - if so how will he do this and what implications does it have to timelines?

How key does Adams see the academy being to his plans?
(follow up) Is he working closely with John Pemberton? Is Pembo's quote of 7 academy players in first team by X realistic?

What did Micky see in Marcus Bent that made him sign him?

What is the reason for Leon Britton leaving the Lane?
(follow up) Could you give details of the transfer? Particularly why he is leaving on free or if there is more to this than meets the eye?

Killer question: What can we expect from Micky Adams Sheffield United in terms of style of play? Sheffield United has a reputation of direct, being hard to beat and playing the long ball. You have a reputation for having physical, direct teams but more recently (at Port Vale) there have been reports of attractive football. In the medium to long term, when you've had chance to put your stamp on the club and build a tea, what type of football can we expect to see??

Additional question:- How much is the "undisclosed" fee we've received from Swansea for Britton? How much of it will Micky be allowed to re-invest in the team?
