Well it's the same manager so.... The disrespect on here towards Wilder is quite unbelievable. Can't work out if the people who ask about why does the past matter are joking or just complete idiots.

Where is the disrespect?

I do. What does what happened 4 years ago 2 leagues below have to do with the present mess?
It allows for a good deal of credit in the bank, and stops us from being reactionary idiots, perhaps?

And it wasn't 4 years ago, it was just over 12 games ago.

I think most would acknowledge that this year has been a mess, and Wilder is responsible for a good bit of it.

The first 30 mins yesterday were atrocious, Chris knew that and that's why the 5 or so minutes after half time were the best bit for us. He'd obviously said it as it was.

They score a flukey goal- game over.

I'm not sure how you want Chris to react in the interviews, he can't just throw them all under a bus like he probably would like to, he has to try to rally a very down group to play Man U in a few days.

But calling for the guys head is straight bonkers, yes we are going down, it's not escapable now- but for what he's done and how far we have come- of course he deserves a crack at the Championship next year the credit he's got in the bank is enormous. And its the sensible business thing to do..

I hope he ditches trying to hold back the opposition, lets go down with a proper fight Chris, caution totally to the wind. And next year this team will get us back with you in charge.

Sam Allardyce = No F****** Thanks

There's no disrespect. everyone is just fed up with him saying the same stuff in post match interviews, setting our team up to defend and not being consistent with his selection

Yet we’ve spent over £100m on new players? Wilder has been backed and the club has invested all the money it can.

Other clubs have spent nowhere near this amount or spent wiser - Leeds, Burnley, Brighton, West Brom for instance and are all currently in a better position than us.

Wilder has to take blame for this. We’ve not won in 16 games! That’s nothing to do with money

Just looking at transfer fee outlay is shortsighted. It's the wages that we can offer versus other Premier League clubs that's the issue.

We have to pay over the odds in transfer fees for younger players that haven't yet proven themselves to the extent of attracting serious interest from other Premier League clubs... just so that we can keep to our wage structure.

JoC was knackered after the first lockdown , needed an operation but we played him half-fit , it was OBVIOUS to anyone watching him when he came back in that he wasn't right - bad mismanagement of the situation which has significantly fucked up the current season
It was also obvious to Tufty, as he mentioned it on more than one occasion in his press conferences.

Wilder made a fool of himself after the Leicester match last season. He went overboard and it was unnecessary; threw the players under a bus after three good games. It’s swung completely the other way now so we’re just switching off from his sound bites and cliches. He’s turned into a normal failure of a football manager.

When people demand loyalty from footballers and managers, it's posts like this that remind me why they are right to have none.

Yes agreed, would you rather pay less money and higher wages for a better player? Results in the same overall financial outlay.

I don’t care how they do it, however I want an X11 out on the pitch that fight for the cause and we’re not embarrassed of.

Some players we’ve completely overspent on and they’re nowhere near this standard.

Either the latter or about 16 years old........🤦🏻‍♂️

Let's face it, if he wasn't a 50 something year old Blades fan that all the other 50 something year old Blades fans on here see as a reflection of themselves everyone would be calling for his head. His pre-season planning, signings and tactics have been awful.
I'm personally not calling for any heads, as I don't know enough of the situation. But your post is bang on. As for the first part of it, I'm "an international fan", but sometimes feel like the "true Blades" here won't accept me as a supporter; then again, some posters are afraid of the international reputation of the club... (??) Well, that was all quite a bit off the mark, but yes, am I allowed to support the Blades even as I haven't been there, standing on the Kop in the glorious days when Blades were in the fourth division? I haven't been to Walsall or what ever back in the 1970's, either... Anyways, I shall follow the Blades through the telly and otherwise, be it that the team was back in League One again, and proudly wear my scarfe every day, just as I did today. As for the latter part of the message, Wilder's signings most decidedly have been awful. But I've been called pork here having pointed that out months ago. The situation right now is crushing my heart. I can't see no ways out of this mess. What I'm pretty certain is that this team with this management team won't be bouncing back to the PL any time soon. Sorry for going so O/T.

I'm also quite baffled and very uneasy with Wilder seemingly now owing up any fault of his own when the team plays as s*ite as it does. Last season al the glory was heaped on Wilder, not the players; did he denounce it? I don't think so. He's a great bloke, but this tendency of his sucks in a big way. How can you keep the dressing room happy coming out with such comments??

I think he's lost the dressing room. I could be far from the point and i hope its not true.

The fact that O'Connell on his own being unavailable goes to show how crap the rest of the defensive squad players are and the fact that he created more chances down the other end is also a sad indictment towards our attacking players. One player shouldn't make a team but it certainly seems that way, without him we're hopeless.

On the other hand, if our "structure" was as good as Wilder says it is, he should be able to slot the next cab off the rank into the squad and they should be able to do the job, OK not to O'Connell's level but competently enough. Liverpool aren't as good without Van Dijk but it's not like they're out of the picture, we on the other hand have just sunk.

Superb analogy that. Absolutely spot on.

Where on earth is our academy? For 4 years, barely anything has come through.

Erm, yes it is.

Spot on that it’s not his magnificent 14 years in management that persuaded many of us to back him, it’s the fact that he’s 50, like some of us?

If, by “superb analogy” you meant “why are you talking out of your arse”, then your post deserves a like.

I can’t believe some of the rubbish I’m reading on here at the moment.

No, it’s spot on that the rabid, frenzied reaction to even the slightest hint of unrest towards one of the worst runs of form from any league side ever, is fuelled by a projection of those that see him as a reflection of themselves.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to question Wilder as he did latterly in his post.

interestingly, you no longer seem to back this analogy. Just the idea that one silly criticism deserves another

The suggestion that people support him through having things in common with him, rather than what he’s done in football, and for our club, is nothing short of laughable.

I think there are a lot of things has happened behind closed doors that we don,t know about. summat must have happened to make the team play poorly.
In three months we have gone from a very good side. to one that ain't performing now.

It’s not laughable at all. We have a song which lauds him as being one of our own. Of course the affinity with his legend is the fact that he’s a blade, lives amongst us, drinks in our pubs, sits with us in the stands etc. If he was literally any other manager no way is he still in job. The point I was agreeing with was the level of aggression deployed by those staunchly defending this unfolding clusterfuck, is clearly fuelled by a heightened sense of many people seeing him as just like them. Ergo, an attack on him is personal.

I love Chris, but it's getting tedious now, last season spoke about having a proper go, this season we can't have a go because these teams will tear us to shreds

Last season went pretty well

This season..........

It's hardly rocket science

If we go down so be it. however don,t go down like a wimp. fight don,t respect who you are playing. just go for it. we get licked 3-0 every game.
Fair enough go down fighting. give us some entertainment. come on Chris get em going again.
