First Belgium - soon to be France?

This opens up so many opportunities for us in terms of youngsters getting experience and the much asked for expanded scouting network. The prince really is taking this seriously although you’ve got to start wondering where the money is coming from and if there’s a sleeping partner somewhere.

This has all the hallmarks of McCabe's demise which started with relegation and buying foreign clubs here, there and everywhere when he should have been concentrating on making us established in the Prem.
To be fair, he's spent the money to make us 'established'. That fact it's been spent on players that don't improve us isn't his fault.

Can anyone name a player that links the two clubs....

I'd agree, but it's not like we've not been spending cash.

Not even sure it would be a good idea to chuck cash at new players in January given the probability of where we'll be next season.

I think this is more the Prince wanting to buy clubs around the world, rather that furnish us with opportunities to buy players from said countries.

Hello, Stegosaurus here,

Word in the grapevine is, the Prince is planning to loan Chris Wilder to these to get him some more experience.

I thought that as well, but it's a different beast these days. Back then it was a vanity project for our Kev. This time it seems to be about clubs working in unity to easily shift players around a variety of clubs at different levels and building a brand.

The Brexit thing is intriguing. How does bringing in a player from a European sister club skirt around the transfer/work permit thingy?

Some Wednesday posters on here are at least mildly credible, you are just embarrassing.
the vast majority of posters on here only say things that they would say face to face. The vast majority of things you post would be laughed at, subsequently do yourself and us a favour and foxtrot Oscar

This is almost certainly with post-brexit work permit issues in mind. Additionally, natural expansion of scouting network to the French leagues with an established club.

Makes sense!

From what I heard on the NTT20 podcast today, you won’t be able to take players direct from lower divisions in Europe to the UK. If that’s right it’s of limited use to us.

Won't pretend to understand all this myself, but this is the fella who was on NTT20 and he seems to think it's a very good idea, so... yay?

well, you can shift the player over to Belgium and thence to the UK I suppose if they have the points.

As he said on the pod, we will be trying this in the Championship and it will be interesting to see how it works for us. It didn’t work when McCabe tried it really

Just think the fans of Chateruaex think they have Arab billions come in ... and he’s got next to nowt 🤣

He needs to wake up and chuck some money our way
We’ve spent handsomely by our standards but probably below average in prem terms it’s not a negative thing just the way it is.

Yeah the only use for us is better links in France and us potentially being able to sign foreign youngsters loan them there to get playing time and hopefully get them international recognition and bring them in as “exceptional talents” if that appeals system still applies under the new rules?

From what I can gather, a player needs to play 60% of games in a season from certain leagues to get enough points to qualify for a work permit for the UK.

I don’t think Ligue 2 is one of those leagues, but I believe the Belgian league is. I’d imagine the idea would be that Prince buys a player for the French club, loans them to play for Beerschot, get the required amount of games & if they’re deemed ‘good enough’ then get transferred to United.

This means that we wont be have to go for the ‘recognised’ internationals or regular first team players from other top European leagues (which will have massive premiums slapped on them for British clubs post-brexit).

Sounds like a number 3 in the pyramide. Sheffield-Beerschot-Chateauroux-Dubai club-India club. I would much prefer he bought some clubs in South America and Africa. There is some serious talent over there to be developed.
