If anyone asks me if I want CW's Interview Album for Christmas, I will punch them in the face REALLY fXXXING HARD!!!!! 😤;)

Time to get your chin off your chest and earn your money CW, pick this team up and turn this season around and World Manager of the Season title awaits you.

On to the next game, still 81 points to play for, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!!!!

I don't think he should be sacked. However our downfall has to be something he's questioned for, despite many fans refusing to blame him for anything.

His tactics are so stubborn and he will not change it. Despite them clearly not working

Signings have been terrible, we've over spent on average players and signed squad players that are literally nowhere near good enough

Substitutions questionable all season. Norwood for Lundstrum today was another that I just can't get my head around

Strange but now more than ever I firmly believe we stand by him. He’s hurting big style and so are all of us. A few weeks ago I thought we should make a change but not now. No one else would get more from that group over the course of the season. The players need to man up and do their jobs. If everyone put in the effort and application of mcburnie we’d be better off. These are dark days but we have to support him.

We are a Championship team, currently playing in the Premier League. Yes, we’ve been unlucky on several occasions. But I really can’t see where this miraculous reversal of fortune is going to come from. We have just played 3 games which were all quite winnable.......But we’ve scored just 1 goal, with 0 points to show for it.
Many still maintain it’s still “early doors,”but as we approach January a decision has to be made whether we continue to throw good money after bad or take it on the chin and prepare for the inevitable. Unfortunately my only gripe is our fabled system of play. CW/AK have stubbornly persisted with a complicated style which has seemingly made it much more difficult for new arrivals to simply “plug in and play.”

No fans.
No Henderson.
No O'Connell.

They're the only differences to last season.

The team has lost all confidence because of these three major factors in my opinion.

That we massively miss O’Connell I can definitely accept, although we left ourselves with little time and money to find an adequate replacement after we fannied about all transfer window trying to bag Brewster. We knew about the Henderson situation long enough to address this. We tried with Ramsdale who, unfortunately, hasn’t been as good for us. Probably not our fault as Henderson was out of our reach financially. However, Ramsdale certainly hasn’t been as bad as some have made out and he has kept the score down on at least a couple of occasions so I’m not sure this has had that big an impact. He seems to be facing more shots and more “unstoppable” chances than Hendo ever did! Granted that’s anecdotal and not based on stats, so I may be wrong.

As for no fans. Every team is dealing with this. It smacks of a lack of professionalism from our lot if they can’t overcome this and put in the same level of performance. Their personal pride really shouldn’t let them give any less, just because we aren’t physically there shouting for them. Everything seems to have gone, the organisation, the fitness, the ability to pass to a teammate. This isn’t down to the fans.

Did he use the word “brilliant”?

Did he have to use that specific word? The sentiment this season has definitely shifted from one of “we fear nobody” to “well, how can we be expected to compete? Look how much they’ve spent and the class of their players.” It’s all become very defeatist, very “little old Sheffield United” and very Warnock’s PL season and I don’t particularly like it.

I don’t class this as a football season without fans in the ground, consequently I don’t care about the results.

in 2 or 3 years when we are all allowed back in full crowds with no masks/distancing I may start to give a fuck.

not watched a game since Leeds h - looking at the results the team don’t give a fuck either.

The main reason is no goals.

Why does no fans make a difference when every team has had no fans until this weekend?

if wilder was to walk - be sacked who on earth could get a tune out of this lot? none of them are playing for the shirt, none of them fear losing the shirt confidence is shot to pieces you can see it the players faces they expect to lose

honestly only mcb and osborn deserve any sort of credit from this afternoon

love wilder love the last 4 years hate watching us right now but just like the players ill carry on regardless

UTB

For me it is now more about performances and fight rather than points.

If we go down with a whimper and a record low do people think CW will suddenly turn things around in the Championship?

THIS ^ It’s really interesting that a lot of us blades me included, believe that being relegated with wilder as manager almost guarantees us the ability to bounce straight back, but changing a manager that is currently in charge of team that isn’t firing or at least trying new things shouldn’t happen because it won’t help. How can people predict a positive outlook for one scenario but such a negative for another. The former riddled with more complex elements increasing the risk of overall failure.

The main reason is no goals.

Our success last season was built on a rock solid defence.

We've lost two massive pieces of that defence.

If you can't defend it effects the way the entire team plays and puts more pressure on the strikers who weren't scoring many to start with.

Why does no fans make a difference when every team has had no fans until this weekend?

I don't know why it makes a difference but the players say it does.

Our players lack individual quality when it comes to most other teams in this league so perhaps we need fans spurring us on more than other teams do.

Nonsense.

The last match we played in front of fans was on the 7th of March, we beat Norwich 1-0.

We were joint 5th in the league.

That was game number 28, well over the halfway point of the season.
I called that the result of the season at the time. But its fair to say it took a few outstanding moments from Henderson for us to even cling on to that result. Its been very rare that we have seen the all confident and high tempo team of pre 2020 Sheffield United since Brighton away. I hope to fuck we change things up a little and Wilder gets us firing either in this league or the champ.

That interview is really hard to watch. Not what he says but it is almost David Weir after that JPT game a few years ago.

He looks a beaten man. I worry that if we lost the next few he will just pack it in.

I think the only thing stopping that (maybe the big pay off) is he won't want to go out like this. His legacy is going to be tarnished if he went out now.

I would not be shocked if we had like a big surprise win in a few games and then he walks away saying it is time for someone else to have a go. That may sound weird but how I can see it going.

I switched off when he said at the beginning "I thought it was okay".

Love him to bits but that is deluded and naive.

That’s a no then.

Sorry, I didn’t realise his fawning over the opposition only counted if he specifically used the word “brilliant”. Silly me.

Do you disagree that his mindset appears to have changed from one of “we can beat anybody” to one of “we can’t be expected to compete with these teams”?

Yes. Definitely. I just don’t see what good misquoting him does.

I didn’t misquote him seeing as I didn’t quote him. I just said that I was bored of hearing how brilliant the other teams are. Pick any of the myriad of synonyms or implications of such that Wilder has used this season. The basic message he’s given is one that the other teams all cost multiple millions more than us, so we can’t be expected to compete on a level playing field. It would be less frustrating if we hadn’t done exactly that with aplomb just last season.

How come spending money has become the be-all and end-all anyway? Since when did not competing financially add fuel to our excuses fire? I thought it was de rigeur on here to scoff at any team spending a fortune and decry that they’d no doubt be “doing a Fulham” (who are also currently above us, by the way.)

In addition, if the most money spent was the sole route to success, wouldn’t Man Utd be fisting everyone 8-0?

Actually l feel like a bit of a twat for picking you up on the use of a word when we have a poster on here who has suffered an unimaginable tragedy. So apologies all round and I’m out.

I fear I’ve missed something here as I’m not sure who you’re referring to.

I went in search of answers and reckon I found what you were referring to in General Chat. (I rarely visit there, focusing on here or the rumour mill during transfer time, so had no idea.)

Anyway, I agree, there are bigger things than football and I can only say that I am sorry for Yank ’s loss and wish him well in getting better.

Reckon I need a break from here ,cant believe the spoilt ,disloyal ,entitled state of our fanbase at the moment. Actually ashamed of us as club from a supporter point of view. Talk about kick a man when hes down ,all in this together but only when we have parades in town eh ? Its gone from slagging the board to slagging the players to slagging the manager ,you know the one who has taken us from the shit of league 1 to the prem ,from crowds of 16k to bleating temps who cant get a ticket ,all in a couple of months.
They will be back claiming their loyalty and wearing the shirt when we start winning but stab you in the back as soon as we are up against it.

I thought we were doomed again when they scored. I thought this game is not lost at 1- 1. We had chances, not great, but still. We gave up a goal thru a mistake. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what needs to happen. The passion has gone, the running off the ball was not there, closing down was sporadic, tackles were subtle and lazy. BACK TO THE BASICS. Tackle when you have to, hold the player up when you have to, track back when you have to. HIT THE F'IN TARGET WHEN YOU HAVE TO. Its not over. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?......I don't think so. Let's Gooooooooooooooo.
