Top end opposition that were beaten by a Fulham team that had a go, and played in Ukraine midweek. Top end. Keep going though, never give up, what will be will be.

Getting sick of hearing how brilliant all these teams we’re playing against are. They’re mostly the same teams as last season when we were a year less prepared and had a year’s less premier league money. So why are we now unrecognisably shit?

I'm affraid, that's football. One season your up , the next your down. Same as a striker , you could fill a book with one season wonder strikers. 28 goals one season, half a dozen the next 5 seasons and never heard of again. No logic to it at all. As said. That's Football.

Did he use the word “brilliant”?

Come on then all you Wilder haters. What would you do to freshen things up?

Me -I’d look at who isn’t pulling any trees up and think about who might be able to give us something different. Give Basham a rest. Anything to give us a fresh spark.

Maybe give George a rest too. Kick up the back side. Whatever you want to call it.

Sounded like he's on the edge. We are not approaching this like farke and Norwich last season. Wilder goes we fall apart even more. Need a car park demo in support of wider and the players pronto. Times to pull together as a club . Big time,

First interview in 4 years where he looks/sounds like a defeated man. I think he probably knows there is no turning this situation around, the players just aren't good enough. You can just see how much the bloke is hurting. Whatever happens (I personally believe he will be sacked in the next 2 or 3 weeks as the Prince will lose his nerve/patience), it's been an amazing 4 years, I've loved every minute up to this season.

No fans.
No Henderson.
No O'Connell.

They're the only differences to last season.

The team has lost all confidence because of these three major factors in my opinion.

It's more than that. Second half of last season showed the signs that we'd lost the momentum we had and that element of surprise. more than that, we lost the fearlessness that got us here. We lost our confidence. We started trying to grind out results. To hold leads. As soon as that happened we started moving backwards. That has just continued this season.

His nose looks like bollocks. Just like our results. I hope we can get a result some time soon as don’t want to see him go.49F2615C-1EF5-4879-BE93-5B59A1D1381B.jpeg

Nonsense.

The last match we played in front of fans was on the 7th of March, we beat Norwich 1-0.

We were joint 5th in the league.

That was game number 28, well over the halfway point of the season.

This interview should be enough for everyone to see why he is the man to either keep us up or get us back up! Not even taking into account the last four incredible years we have had there won’t be a hungrier man to get this club back up and running again!
It’s a hard time for all Blades we need to keep our chin up it was always going for be a rollercoaster! We have hit a big dip but I firmly believe we will get over it with this man at the helm! 95% of Blades are behind him and trust him to get us back!

Why does the Prince want us to play in an empty stadium because that's what would happen if he sacked Wilder. The fans would turn their backs on the club in droves. Selling Jones, Birchenall, Deane and Sabella would be nothing to what would happen if he sacked Wilder.

Defence always seem to have a mistake and can’t keep a clean sheet midfield don’t seem to be working hard making a lot of mistakes and no craft in final 3rd strikers putting in a shift but again not making right decisions in key areas and missing chances and as every game goes by confidence gets dinted they really need to dig deep because we do look poor only 30% possession I still kind of have faith but it’s painful at minute

Wilder has spent a lot of money and lumbered us with players who are not good enough for top end Championship never mind the PL. I’m not sure how we are going to get out of this mess any time soon. No wonder he sounds defeated.
I think you’re being harsh on the recruitment front and I get it it hurts right now everyone is emotional but IMO the recruitment hasn’t been disastrous we’ve just had an incredibly disjointed side in terms of selection and other than Ramsdale who for me looks average and Lowe who was cheap none of the others have had a run in the side. The group that took us up through the leagues is starting to hit its sell by date norwood looks to have dropped over the summer and it’s gonna come for the others too billy, bash and didsy eventually. I think we went into the summer thinking we needed a long term answer at goalie and up front and cover at the back which we got with the loan of ampadu and the lads from derby to develop longer term but injuries have thrown that plan out the window. To say they can’t yet cut it at prem level and current evidence I can’t argue but to say they can’t do it in the champ might be pushing it a tad.

Well for starters, Chris Wilder isn't bigger than Sheffield United. For the record, I don't want him sacked, he's done an amazing job these past 4 years. The Prince is a business man who's used to success though, and people like that tend not to accept failure. He's invested a hell of a lot of money, and will want to see a return on that (he's not in charge of the club because he's a lifelong blade, it's an investment for him). I'm not saying it will happen, but the board must be discussing it, they'd be crazy not to. For starters, Chris could walk, so I'd expect them to have plans in place if he does. The results so far this season are nowhere near good enough, Wilder will accept that. It will all come down to if the Prince believes he can turn it around. I hope he does.

I just cant fathom how we are never considering changing the shape. Teams know to clog up the wide channels and then we struggle. We also currently dont have the players available to play this way, especially at LCB and LWB, so why not change it until then?

You cannot be so inflexible, even liverpool etc change their shape when needed. Add another man to the midfield. Add some genuine width. Add a player to sit in between the lines. Any of them will be better than the 30 punts forward a game, or watch them get it into the corner followed by pass, pass, pass, dreadful cross, notably because these crosses are coming from defenders.

You can't blame Wilder today, as he says the players have to do better. The bloke is clearly gutted at the result just like the rest of us but when players continually fuck up there is not a lot you can do especially when you have a small squad. Over the season so far you can point the finger at every one of those players for the results, Wilder must be wondering what else he can do just like I am. At the moment we have half a defence the midfield is non existent and the strikers are feeding off scraps.

When are the players going to learn one mistake cost us the game today and last week and week before and so on.
you get punished for this in the premier Premier league. it,s the players who make all the mistakes. not the manager.
However, the manager has to bite the bullet, unfortunately.

CW is right about players and big moments. Unfortunately, that's what you get for not bringing in quality players who make the right decisions in big moments (the fault of CW and arguably the board, but in their defence they have given CW decent money).

I don,t mean Wilder to be sacked. he will be getting all the flak
