Keen Bryan and Jack Rodwell.
At a time we've been without 1st choice left centre half, 1st choice left back and 1st choice left central midfielder, to have failed to get a mention as a possible for any of those slots, at 24 is quite remarkable.
I appreciate he fulfills the important role of 'the one shagging the soap star' but as an actual footballer I'm troubled by the fact we're paying a lad decent money to appear more times in 'OK' than the matchday program.
How we've managed to live without a player whose wiki entry reads as follows, I'll never know:
"Able to operate as a centre-back or box-to-box midfield, Bryan has been praised for his vision and passing ability, as well as for his long-range shots and penalty-taking."
Then onto Rodwell. Chomping at the veritable bit to relinquish the tag of football mercenary, happy to take the money without actually contributing at all, he's managed to muster zero minutes all season.
I really don't see the point in having these players on the books. You'd need the entire back 5 to be out and then one of the replacements for them to get a game. What a waste of money.
You can probably add Tommy Dickfingers and Simon Moore who are merely duking it out as to who will model next season's keeper kit. If we ever needed a third goalie to bench fill Amissah could do that. In those sort of circumstances you'd have dispensation to bring in a keeper. Moore might still be injured but why tie wages up?
Those 4 must be collectively on 2m per year.
So, in summary, me too. I'm also struggling!
