Ehh that’s a blast form the past , loved Trusson when I was a lad , loved the other player in this picture as well , and I loved that kit with cantors sponsor on the front . I would like to wish him well but , 🤷‍♂️

I wouldn't be surprised if he frequents this board, I did recently see some Social Media action from him on a friend of a friend's FB account earlier this year.

Night match went straight from work kicked off on their end at the end of the match
We had a nightmare after ,wrong time wrong place ,had about 25 of them attack us hanging on the roof of the car , a real kick off. The worst trouble Ive had was at shitty places like Northampton Chester and Hartlepool.

I was at Plymouth when he scored 2 goals against us in 4 nil defeat or was it 4-1 ,I know Kenworthy missed a penalty for us . Think we signed him 3 months later

Always liked him but he never really kicked on in the way that i hoped he would. Wonder what ever happened to John Matthews as well?

John Matthews the player who bottled the penalty! He was friends with a mate of mine called Les Tibbett (lovely man btw). I remember he used to occasionally come in to the Devonshire Arms in Dore. My other mate Paul Williams (submariner on leave) once said when he got a round in and a pint of lager and lime for the gay boy! Matthews wasn't impressed lol! The other tosser was John McPhail (centre half think) very arrogant man! But hey ho. UTB

Just to be clear, I didn't post it to big-up Wednesday, I was more interested in some of the other very low crowds such as spurs and Chelsea etc.

Solid player Les, liked him.

A group of blokes who stood behind us on the Kop always used to call him 'Trot', as in 'Trot's got one' when he made a crap tackle.

Never knew why.

Has little, if no relevance on his current situation. Ok, none.

No idea why I brought it up.

I'm 57 and I've still got my own teeth you know.

I remember when it were all fields round here.

Don’t know if this is true but I heard Mcphail got a fine for having a kids train ticket while playing for York and Les Tibbett for his transfer fee alone is the worse player I’ve seen at Bramall Lane

I bet your mate Les loves having his surname mispelt?

MacPhail may have been arrogant (or not), but he did more in a red and white shirt than Matthews, Tibbot and Williams combined.

Remember him scoring both goals away at Northampton in a 2-0 win
if memory serves me right, northampton had been hammered on the saturday by bury 5-0 or summat like that and i went there expecting us to stick another 5 past em, pretty sure we were 1 nil down with about 2 mins left and turned it around. northampton had a decent following, seem to remember them bringing a decent number to the lane for a night match when keith waugh saved a pen. remember it kicking off at a fair number of grounds with the lesser clubs, vale, scunny, b'mouth etc, wrong time at the wrong place

Was a bit of an unsung favourite player of mine in the 4th division season. Edwards Morris Hatton got most of the plaudits and rightly so but a good old pro was Truss, capable of popping up with s goal or two

I think he got player of the season in 81/82 and 82/83 seasons.

I thought he was poor in the relegation season but the two seasons under Portferfield he was excellent. I was gutted he was part of the swap deal for Stan. They should have bought Stan, kept Truss and signed Cockerill much earlier in the season and we'd have walked promotion that season, rather than taking it down to the wire.

So agent Beattie has been replaced with agent Trusson, agent Currie will be their director of football next.

Some of my earliest memories as a Unitedite and in some ways good times but let's not over egg the pudding.

Trusson is a player who just happened to be involved at one of the lowest ebbs in our history.

If you take a step back people like him get plaudits whilst many many far far better players get hammered because they were involved in teams much higher up that didn't achieve what was expected at the time.

He's now a pig cunt.

I remember, on the day before we were playing our season opener at Portsmouth, during my lunch break from my work (Chesterfield) in August 1982 I went to watch England v India through the window of a tv shop, when you are doing that you often see people walking behind you from the reflection on the window. I was startled that a man behind me looked very much like Mike Trusson so I turned round to see and it was definitely him. I wondered why our player of the year from last season wasnt in the team coach on the way to Portsmouth. He looked a bit glum and was just window shopping with his wife/girlfriend. Looking at match reports two days later (I was playing cricket at Guildford in the next day) I noticed his name wasnt in our line up.
