Is it time to change the manager?

Its a fair question for a forum such as this, particularly as some of his signings have not been successful, but that is football, every team buys players who flops. Lookman has been round the houses, in fact I cannot remember who actually owns him?

Chelsea dumped Salah, & the rest is history.

But personally I am for sticking with CW. He has earned a crap season for the good of the past 4 years. Plus who are we going to get? In all honesty beyond big sam I cannot think of anyone who might keep us up, & theen what? Bearing in mind I think this season's budget has gone.

If [& I don't think we will] we go down CW is our best bet to come back up, & if not we play football in a different division.

In reality we do not have the finances to sustain playing in the PL where all but 3/4 clubs are owned by billionaires, sad but true. Leeds are borrowing money from the bank to fund their spending to try to stay up!

I'm sorry I understand Blade56's predicament he just asked first, but no this is not the time for knee jerk reactions and getting rid of CW. I am lost though how McBurnie missed two great chances the header should have been buried, and maybe the 2nd one would have been offside but score then worry about it.

If they got rid of CW which would be madness who replaces him anyone who says Allardyce or Redknapp or say Pulis, I'll personally kick them in "happy sack".

Blade56 is just asking a question he's a Blade through and through, some of you ought to read Shoutbox plenty on there have got CW hung drawn & quartered.

WE may have a scrap this season but, it's one I feel we can win but we have to toughen up Fulham bullied us and then kicked us all over, and we stand for it.

Berge has skills but he's not a hard man we need an enforcer, we should have been out of sight after 1st half and 2nd was pish poor.

1. Brewster may take a bit longer to “get there” than would be ideal.

2. Given this, our best 2 up top is Moose and Dids. Not an option right now.

3. I find it utterly bizarre that a strike pairing that yielded c40 goals in firing us in to the PL has been afforded ZERO opportunity to rekindle this partnership in over 40 games back in the big league. If others were firing em in, might be sort of understandable. They ain’t !

4. Norwood is toast at this level.

5. McB should surely now be an impact sub. At best.

Why? It’s a serious question.
I thought us old uns had more patience.
If we did go down, without any doubt Wilder would be the man to get us back up.
I agree that it is vital we stay up, Wilder is a genuine hard working intelligent football manager. He has earned his place at BDTBL.
If the fans were allowed back in the stadium they would have roared the team on today.

Apparently so and people backing him.
Backing me in what? Point where I said he should be sacked, replaced whatever. I just asked fans opinion if he’s up to PL.

Its easy to name call, abuse, ridicule, jump on the f**k off w@nker post brigade etc but those who know me know I’m not a WUM or attention seeker (unless it relates to pork pies).

I’m concerned about SUFC and for those who think if the worst happens we’ll bounce straight back you’re in for a shock when our good players are picked off at budget prices and we are left with the polished turds and no money to rebuild.

Hopefully I’m 100% wrong and we‘ll romp up the PL to safety and I will willingly bare my @rse to take one for the team. But if anyone’s input can’t get beyond abuse put me on ignore while the grown up talk.

Then what, accept relegation again just as the parachute payments disappear? The question is regarding his ability for the PL. and yes bring on the abuse like that will help. The question is out there.

I have no issue whatsoever regarding what his abilities are in L1 and the Championship.

Parachute payments aren’t disappearing. Project big picture just had its arse kicked out of the playground.

But we weren’t!

Non so blind as those that won’t see. 8 PL losses on the trot, worst start to a season since 2003 apparently. How bad does it have to be for anyone to question if CW has what it takes to build a squad and keep us in the PL.
If it was a player doing so bad we’d be queuing up to get rid eg McB

You wouldnt give a glowing report to an employee that was consistently underperforming.

Hard question to address but it needs addressing not just ”wanker post”
Best 4 seasons most blades have ever seen, finished 9th in the premier league at first go. 1 draw and 4 losses this season and you question changing manager, non so blind indeed, I'll stick with my original assessment thanks.

Honestly cant believe we are asking this question. We're now the kind of fans we used to take the piss out of.
The simple answer can be “no, I don’t think we should consider replacing Wilder”.

No, it's not time to change the manager. BUT, he is making some mistakes and needs to learn from them quickly. For example, not changing the midfield (second half today) when Berge was running on empty and we'd lost control of it.

I think he also made a massive mistake in the window by not adding creativity in the midfield, whilst letting Freeman go. Yes, our budget is not within his gift, and we can't complete with the rest for £££, but he normally is good at making the best of it. I am not sure he has this time around.

Or it can be what i said. Its never once entered my mind tbh, and dont know why it would anybody else.

The questions got to be asked so I’ll grasp the nettle.

Backed by the board, no complaints there
£45 on 2 strikers
Squad lacks athleticism
Squad lacks creative / technical players
Refuses to explore foreign market
Still tries to polish turds
Seems to lack Plan B other than bring Billy on

We just struggled against one of the poorest teams to grace the PL for a while. New soft penalties and VAR saved us from defeat.

I can’t forget where we were and what he’s done for us but the question has to be asked. Do we support CW at all costs or Sheffield United’s future?

Cant see us buying a win anytime soon.

Fire away 🤬🤕
You can ask the question but the reality is we aren't at our flowing best and this isn't down to Chris it's down to a lack of cutting edge caused by missing a few key cogs and a lack of form of some others. Today we got the luck we haven't had for ages and it got us a point. No VAR no point today so we have got to praise the system. As for replacing Chris no one will ever get more out of these players so you can list some weaknesses and they are valid but I don't see Liverpool fans screaming for klopp to go after conceding 9 in their last 2 games and losing like that to villa so perspective and keep supporting we know our players run through brick walls for us, it's a shame us supporters don't support to the same level

Blade 56 asked the question never does he say he needs sacking but some have jumped on him unfairly IMO. this is a testing time for CW as it's been a great ride since he came. He knows what is needed and will do best to get us clear we've played 5 not 35 not the time for jumping off Lady's Bridge yet, but the goals have to come McB ATM not lethal enough.

TBH VAR and GLT has been our enemy until today. That decision to give us a penalty so long after the the event and for what? That pen is as controversial as the ghost goal. Just imagine if that had been given against us. Lets hope it contributes as much to our season.

We were hit with a piece of individual brilliance (could he do it again?) and given a pen for doing the Can Can, Billy took it brilliantly had Lunny done so at Villa we could have at least 4 points by now.

You should stick to asking inane consumer questions

1st of all the wanker posts are out of order.

My comment was replying to a post were someone asked if this was a serious question, you had some people backing your comment on sacking Wilder.

sacking a manager 5 games into a season, where in 4 years has grown our club from 11th in league 1 to 9th in the P.L. Its not the right thing to do. Otherwise we get into the mess we had after Warnock and Blackwell left.
