Following on from the 3 defeats at the end of last season and the 4 already this season, then the Fulham game is a must not lose game with the next 3 games after that are against Liverpool, City and Chelsea. It's a real possibility that it would stretch the "run" to 11 and makes me wonder if it would be our worst ever run of defeats in our history. I also think that our season could become impossible to turn around. I'm not being negative as i believe we have a good set of players but we must get at least a draw on Sunday to give the lads a bit of a lift with the games to come.

Let's be reyt, I would probably have to say that Fulham at home is an absolute must win.

Having said that though, football is so bonkers this season and it wouldn't surprise me if we ended up picking up points somewhere where we would least expect to (i.e Liverpool, Chelsea etc).

Wouldn't say I'm particularly worried at this stage, but I certainly didn't think the 5th game of the season would be a relegation 6 pointer.

I do wish people would stop adding 3 dead rubber games from last season to the 4 defeats we have suffered in this current season. Last time I looked points from a previous season do not count in a current season in any league in the world.

They don't count, but it's very relevant when talking about the team's form.

You are being negative.

I would argue the 1st one of those wasnt a dead rubber and if we won that one the next one might not have been . But by your logic, we should therefore ignore the four previous seasons under Wilder as they are now not relevant and only judge him on the first four games of this season . Consequently, if we lose the next four games should we sack him ? If not, based on this season's performances only , why do you think we should keep him on as manager if we lose the next 4 and make it 7 in a row .

( I am not saying we should sack Wilder )

I think that the fact we got very close to qualifying for a European tournament was very laudable, but the fact is our "failure" to get that spot was not a failure at all. Given our primary aim was staying in the division we achieved that with "bells on".
If we do loose our next 4 games of course we shouldn't sack Wilder, that would be preposterous. Our recent history, however good, is still history & was accomplished in different divisions, with some different players & different tactics tailored to those divisions. We have improved year on year since our current management team took over & I think that affords them a lot of credit looking ahead. We are having our first real wobble & what usually happens is that fans start a wall of noise to force the club to change manager without giving them a chance to work through it. I think this is almost always the wrong thing to do, for almost every club & situation, I dread to think what would happen if CWAK left, but I do know it would certainly be the wrong thing to do, at exactly the wrong time.

I think he's using a similar approach to stats as the Blades that come on here when we've lost and Liverpool have just conceded 7 to Villa and say "well Liverpool are worse than us because they lost 7-2". Infantile.

You can judge a player or manager on past seasons , but league position depends only on results in that season.
I was at the Forest match in 1990(?) when we won for the first time after 16(?) games and look where we finished that season.
A better time to judge how we are doing this season is after 15/17 games and then after the JTW.

Especially when you don't get points for a defeat 😉

Id be a lot more worried if we were playing crap getting battered and losing 3/4/5-0 we have palyed decent in most games and are unlucky to be on zero points

If we lose against Fulham then I would be getting worried :eek::eek::eek::oops::oops::oops::eek::eek::oops::oops:

It worries me of we don't bring who wilder needs tommorow

How bad was the run under Bassett? I know we didn't win for ages but I think we got a few draws.

'decent' is not how I'd describe our performances. We've been a shadow of ourselves from the same time last season.

I know all the excuses that we've got (Villa red card, played well after 10 mins against Wolves, good chances against Leeds, solid defensively at Arsenal), however we still haven't played to anywhere near the levels we set last season.

I think people have to realise that the league this season is far far better than it was compared to last season Leeds are probably gonna do what we did last year villa are 10x better arsenal have arteta and wolves are still quality

We are nowhere near as good as we were last year yet when we were at our best

But we won a lot of games where we played good last season I don't think we will be able to do that this season as shown in the first 4 matches where we havent been terrible but last year we might have got 3/4 points out of that

This 'league is better' argument is not one I can get on board with. Teams go up and down every year, just because Man U, Arsenal and Spurs were shite last season doesn't mean much. It's an excuse.

Go through everyone in the league and the majority of teams are much better

Absolute nonsense, the teams are the same teams, apart from the 3 teams that got promoted but they played in the Championship last season. Norwich won the league with more points than Leeds.

You keep telling yourself it's everyone else playing better though and not us playing worse.

Based on what we've seen so far I'd say Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Wolves, Man Utd and Burnley look worse.

And Fulham and WBA are collectively worse than Norwich and Watford were last season.

With fans we'd have stayed up no problem this season, albeit finishing lower than last. We need to learn asap to motivate ourselves without fans because we're facing relegation
