Has to be back for Fulham game surely?

PS first post, still working my way round this thing.

Hope we are all keeping well fellow Blades.

Agree, quick distribution to either flank allowing either wingback to distribute at pace. Games without Norwood at CDM we’ve won one and lost seven.

What took you so long?

I understand why Berge is playing in the central role, because it's his best position. But, we are a better team with Norwood in it.

I agree. If we continue playing our tried and tested 3-5-2 overlapping centre back routine then we need Norwood to sit in and spray those balls left and right.
I really think Berge is wasted in this position as he needs the freedom to get forward with the ball at his feet.

a little baffling how he was last yrs captain and now this years bench player, he must be extremely influential in the dressing room to take that title, as apparently most of our players are leaders, strange he cant get a look in so far

I have tried to come up with why Norwood has not played that much.Every time he does we play a bit better. Not sure CW rationale but hopefully Norwood starts v Fulham

Says a lot that stat. Wilder has had a brain fart with the midfield and somehow Lunny/Osborn are starting every week. Norwood was a key performer last season, Sander is quality but can play on the right. Why choose between them when you can have both?
Both is a good option, but Norwood has faded as teams have realised that he is not so good under pressure and without space.

It does seem strange how both Norwood and Fleck have been bit parts this season. Is it maybe a fitness monitoring thing? Or does Chris Wilder just think they've gone a bit shit?

Tbh, watching since lockdown, was never struck by Norwood. His corners are rubbish (well not much has changed without him taking them either but. . . ). He often used to give sloppy passes/control away and whilst he might be the best we can come up with at the moment I wouldn't on what I've seen class him as a PL player.

I agree that it seems to be inexplicable why he is not playing. Is there an underlying injury/fitness problem that we don't know about?

Never heard of him, i'll take a look.
I'm far from down with the kids but I thought everyone would have watched his videos. Seems a top fella, I asked the other day if he was on here or not but nobody seems to know.

Maybe Wilder has dropped Norwood because i) he actually has another option now in Berge and ii) to show Norwood that he isn’t undroppable and needs to improve.

He’s been a really important part of our success and I think an in form Oli Norwood definitely makes us play better as a team. But it’s not unfair to suggest his standards haven’t been as high post lockdown and now we have Berge it gives Wilder an option - who would Norwood realistically have been dropped for before that?

This may be very controversial, however we have been on a fantastic journey over the last few seasons with a good band of players putting 100% effort in each week proving that they are Premier league players.

Unfortunately one or two of them appear to believe that now they have the salaries and 'trappings' of Premier league players they don't have to push themselves that extra yard, therefore performances are suffering.

It's very difficult to turn it back on as and when required.

Some truth in that. I get the feeling that the very heavy schedule they had imposed on them for the long period of lockdown was perhaps a bit over the the top, and, with one or two exceptions, has taken the edge off performances since restarting.
