When is a foul not a foul

Please, get bothered again about VAR, if we the football fans/supporters aren't bothered it will never be put right, I believe it can be rectified. If it can't be put right then it want's to be abandoned. Not 'just' for the the Blades, for pro football in general.
On the money reference Blades shortcomings. Only the management and players can sort that. Given a level playing field recon they will stay in this league.

What do we do though? shoes off in the FA car park?

Not a bad idea, who's go'na organise a nation wide demo...............oh! bad time for that. Covid etc.
Can't stop going to games as no one goes at present.
Thought about cancelling Sky subscription but don't have one and those who do would start a war at home with wife and kids, m'i thinks.
FA seem to have got us over a barrel, or maybe not, some good brains on here, come on fellers.

Our players need to go down like other players do. I don't like it, but you have to these days. Force the referee to make a decision. Burke should have gone down, Lunny should have done as well. You'd like to think had they done so, we'd have got at least one of the decisions in our favour.

Knowing our luck they'd both have been booked for diving

Should be a camera in var headquarters so we can see what they are actually doing.after all they have programmes like .inside animal a+e. extreme fare dodgers. Car thives caught on camera. Why not something like ."life at stockley park getting it wrong again"

When is a foul not a fowl ?
When its like this

Also when lundstum got a tap on the ankle in their box had he gone down it would've been a stonewall but he didn't go down, ergo a foul is not a foul if you don't fall on the floor, add a few rolls and a scream and that adds a card
And that is why we do not get decisions ,we are to bloody honest while all other players in this league cheat. We have to start to play act like the rest.Do not like saying it but the refs are so wet they fall for it.I saw a Man u player getting sent off thanks to that bloody VAR for a love tap he gave a Spurs player .The Spurs player went down like he had been shot and got the man u player sent off but why VAR did not see the spurs player actually punch the MANu player two seconds before is a joke.We have to play like the rest and cheat and get the decisions ,we should not have to but the refs are so bloody useless if you do not go down you get nothing,if you do a Grealish you get everything.

It's easy to moan about this sort of stuff when you're not doing very well, but let's face it, it happened in the last 4 or so seasons, when we've been successful at different levels. I didn't see us getting any favours from refs in L1 because by those standards we were a "big club". The decision making is appalling, and it's more undiluted because there are no crowds to provide any distraction from the idiocy going on during the game.
I know we're biased because we're Blades, but I try to look at these weird decisions through a period of reflection when I've calmed down (and I'm 62 and try not to get too wound up!), and I always come to the same conclusion - either the officials and VAR system is incompetent, or it's somehow corrupt. Esteemed Forgeblade has been telling me this for 20 years, since he was a lad, and I usually told him to calm down and try not to get too wound up about incompetent refs etc., but I now think he was right all along.
On Sunday, we were doing ok against Arsenal, and everyone knows we're a bogey team to them. They're hugely rich, and are a "global brand". People all over the world "support" them by paying to watch them (win) on telly. If Burke had scored, I have little doubt we'd have won that game, but money talks and perhaps we couldn't be "allowed" to win. So the already very financially unlevel playing field gets shifted even more by the Arse getting just a little bit of additional "assistance"? That way, the global brand gets what it wants, the money people get what they want, and who cares about "Sheffield"? OK, we've not been great so far, but we weren't that bad on Sunday, and were in with a shout for at least a point. I'd say that decision (perhaps not helped by one made by CWAK not long after), stuffed us.
This may seem a bit far fetched, but like I said, the only other explanation is a level of incompetence at "work" that I'd rightly get sacked for.
Ta for reading this!

Could not agree more. The refs are totally useless or the game is bent.Egan gets sent off two weeks ago for the same foul the Arsenal player committed on Burke. Not a word to the Arsenal player never mind a card any card not a word was said. When asked on match of the day why VAR did not intervene it was explained that it can not in circumstances like that but Egan was sent off AFTER THE VAR TOLD THE REF TO SEND HIM OFF;Is it bent or are the refs so useless that they should be held responsible. The main point is Var adds to the obvious mix up of the laws and creates even more inconsistence and is only as good as the person who is operating it some 50 miles away .

Even top refs can not agree ex ref Hackett says the ref was right not to send the guy off Clattenberge another so called top ex ref says he should have been sent off.I am afraid there is no chance of consistency but they say things even them selves out well don't hold your breath guys we are talking about Sheff U here.

Burke and Lundstram playing for any other team win the game by going down and that is the reality of prem football today.
So we either play them at their own game or shut the fuck up and stop moaning.
I don’t like it but if you can’t beat em you gotta join em.

I like that we don't do it (the odd half hearted attempt by Billy aside), but sadly I think it may be the way forward. I'd put money on us doing it then getting done loads of times for simulation though!!!🤣

Yes, the game is bent, it is becoming more apparent and the desperate explanations are becoming more and more implausible 🤫

Wilder has virtually said in one of his post-match interviews today that other teams are getting decisions against us by hitting the deck when fouled , so we have to wise-up and retaliate in kind.

I'd like our players to cheat just for the sake of cheating
The game has got to the point where you look like a bunch of clueless tossers that aren't clever enough, haven't got enough football savvy and aren't skillful enough unless you cheat. Pretty much the same as the rest of society, especially the Nige's that have latched themselves on to Premier League football

I'd like us to start giving VAR some decisions that would benefit us. Wilders 'men being men' attitude falls down in the EPL, success is measured by points not honesty.

Let’s be honest, you aren’t going to take much notice when it’s the biggest pot of the day and you’re sat with this....

You contrast Lundstram playing on vs Lacazette in last season's cup tie hitting the deck as if a sniper had hit him.

Those are the fine margins. 11 v 10 would have been interesting and getting a pen would also have been potentially decisive.

Spot on. It’s like we have a set of dim wits playing for us? They know what the crack is in this league, having had to watch it and suffer by it all last season, but still stick to the Queensbury rules! The problem is, we’re the only team playing by the Queensbury rules in the league!

We are all supposed to play by the rules .but obviously cheating is the way to play ..v.a.r.and refs dont take this into consideration .they are so easily fooled .you could have 10 var centres and not one of them would agree on any onfield decision.

Reminds me of...can't remember the lad in boxing who said, 'when you box an American in the US you know before the match starts you have to knock them out just to get a draw.'

Got to give the referee a decision to make .if you dont go to ground when fouled ie burke .its an easier decison for the ref to make.going to ground makes the ref think twice as what to give .certainly burke would have got the foul given.see it with englands penalty decision against belgium today .making the refs final decision easier to make

Remember the 2018 World Cup when just about everyone and their dog ran up to the referee after any falling over making the universal box sign gesture with their fingers wanting a video replay? Perhaps that’s the future for us because it’s the only way we are going to get a decision in our favour.

Bit harsh maybe but var supposed to cut the cheating out.but they are the ones cheating this system of refereeing by incorrect decisions.
