With all the ups and downs going on at the Lane at the moment, I think it would be a calming measure if KM informed us of what he thinks of the current situation, and what, or if, he intends to do about it? The situation being as we all know poor performances, alarming slide down the table, etc etc. Does he still go to the Lane himself anymore?
Cannot recall the last time I heard him speak???

I think some sort of interview with chairman would be beneficial at this point. Just ot get his thoughts on the coming months and any intentions he may or may not have come January!

He really does need to come out and say something. At the moment he's making it look like he's buried his head in the sand and is leaving it to rack and ruin. A simple show of support and explanation about what he and TB are doing in the background would pacify the majority.

I dont think he and the other directors have any idea of a) how bad things are on the pitch and b) how unhappy the supporters are. They cant possibly have any idea because they're not responding to it in any way. Its just complete silence and no one knows whats going on!

My assumption has been that the reason McCabe is lying low and not making any public statement is that he currently has nothing positive to say about the team's situation or our prospects going forward.

Personally I prefer the Chairman in the background not giving interviews left right and centre approach, rather then the David Gold approach.

If he doesn't feel he needs to say anything / or that anything he does say will be picked to within an inch of it's existence to make him or the club look bad.
Then he should keep on not saying anything at the moment.

If club has plans to make funds available to Speed then I prefer them to keep stum about it. If the agents and clubs get wind that we do have funds available in January then they'll do the usually thing and inflate fees and wage demands. So its not in our best interests really.
No problem with a rallying cry...Things are tight etc etc...but were all working hard to rectify the situation but I think at this time we need to trust the club and hopefully they''ll the come good for us.

I don't care if he never says another word ......... oh hang on thats not true............. the new owners of the Blades are ???? would be good.

If he said owt then it would probably just be bullshit to temporarily apease the fans, at least by saying nowt he can't be accused of being a liar.

Just to clarify, do you think he's a Liar or do you think that if said anything - truth or not - others would think he's a Liar?

I just wish he'd run the Blades as good as he runs his property companies !

From a PR viewpoint there is very little point in him coming out and saying "Yeah - Shit isn't it" if that's all he can say. The last thing he should do is come out and make some promises that aren't going to be delivered upon.

I strongly suspect he knows that the season is fucked up and that he's got his fingers crossed like the rest of us that it doesn't go too far tits-up before some wheeling and dealing in January. He's not about to put up a load more money and he hasn't got a queue of investors lined up, so I don't see what else he can do. He will probably also know that he's getting a lot of the blame for fucking it up - if he's comfortable with this for the time-being then there's no need for him to come out and repolish his image. Any "Speed has got our support" quotes will be lethal - particularly as there is very little tangible evidence of it beyond him staying in the job. About the best he could say is "Speedo's been unlucky with crucial players being injured" - which amounts to about the same as "Yeah, shit isn't it".

If he was desperate for us to think the best of him, his only answer would be to make sure Speed could make a splash in the transfer market. Then and only then could he start giving quotes saying he's supporting Speedo's efforts to turn things around. Like Finance Blade - I'd rather that wasn't announced until after we'd done it, and I'd worry if it was touted as being a splash but was only bringing in some has-beens and ne'er do wells that all he was doing was covering his arse before shafting Speed.

As with just about every other circumstance you can think of Ronan has the answer.

KM says it best, when he says nothing at all.

Regardless of whether he says owt or not, people will believe what they choose to believe anyway... twisting his words to fit their agenda.

As I said in the other thread, actions speak louder than words.

A bit of both....polititian like. He has been known to say one thing and immediately do the opposite. (James Beattie)
I think that if he would do an interview, he would HAVE to make promises that he more than likely will not be able to keep, just to keep the peace until january at least.

Personally I wish he would come on RS, say it as it is, even if we are in a dire state and he wont/cant do owt about it, and regain a little credability with some fans who think that he just "cant be arsed anymore".

Don't think he's missed a home match this season. He doesn't always sit in the directors box.

Are you sure this is right? As a tax exile, I thought he was only allowed to spend so many days in the UK per year? I know whenever he wants to speak to one of the managers, they seemed to get summoned to Brussells for an emergency summit.

He has however left every game 10 minutes early. Scared of facing the fans and the truth?
