I reckon it is time to look more closely at our goalkeepers performances this season. IMO he has cost us several points through bad decision making,eg matches against Cardiff, Middlesboro, Burnley (first goal) and several others through not making himself "big enough" on blocks (example first goal at Donny) ,bad postioning (eg third goal against Burnley or not dealing with shots properly eg giving up rebounds for poacher's goals instead of catching the ball cleanly or pushing the ball away from harm (second goal at Donny).

Iknow that he has made several fine saves for us this season, but that is what you should expect at circa £10,000 per week. A wise ex goalkeeper once pointed out to me that goalkeepers should be judged on the goals that they concede and not the shots that they save.

Simmo's shortcomings have not been helped by several mistakes committed by defenders and midfielders to make matters worse.

The worst news is that the second in line for the goalkeeper's jersey makes some brilliant saves but is also prone to regular clangers too. IMO he has had too many chances at other clubs of late to be a serious threat to Simmo. Either bring the Estonian lad back from Mansfield or seek out a new one before it's too late.
Perhaps Hodgy MBE could make a comeback at 74 :-)

My choice would be Speroni at Palace. What are your views or who would you chose?

It's perhaps worth remembering Paddy's displays with a bit more respect now that we have seen several alternatives within the last year

I think you could be onto something if we change the defence, midfield & strikers too - they are all as bad as each other. Oh & whilst we are at it, let's swap our Chairman for one who gives a sh!t.

why would we need to bring aksalu back from mansfield when we have richard wright as no 2? IF wright is anywhere near as good as he was in the day he is worth a go.

Guess who this refers to?

Richard Wright was a brilliant young goalkeeper who in his prime played for Arsenal and England, but sadly went downhill since then making too many regular mistakes that saw him sink to the wilderness of Sheffield United Reserves

too many chances at other clubs as of late..................... the bloke has only had 6 clubs in the last 15 years.

simonsen has made plenty of mistakes so i really can't see the harm in giving wright a go.

and in 2008/09 he was voted ipswich player of the season so that hardly suggests clanger after clanger

Peter Shilton is now available at weekends. His new "friend" Bruno Tonioli might toughen up our midfield too :-)

I bet that not many would dispute Simmo's contributions to our downfall against Coventry. It seemed to be noticed by the Blades Management team as Wright was doing some intensive warm up activities at half time. Is it now time to give Wright a go?

He has done the same routine every half time since he has been here

What harm can it do to give Wright a few games. If he is on the books and getting a wage lets at least see him work for the wage and see what he can do. If he is no good and worse then Simmo it will give Simmo the kick up the arse he needs.

To be fair he cant be that much worse than Simmo at the moment.
