If Nixon is right on this one we as a forum will owe him a major apology for traducing his ITK credentials. Maybe a whip round for a card and some choccies?

If this happens it would say to me that the board really couldn't be backing the manager any more than they are doing under the circumstances.
You'd like to think that everyone on here would get right behind the club we love 100% without too many dissenting voices.
Massive boost to the playing staff and, hopefully, the mentality of everyone at the club, whether he is instantly successful or not.
Come on Liverpool.....you know you want to accept.

I really hope that Sun article is true - if it is, it's probably the first time the Sun has ever been right! Sorry, just had to get my distain out there for that paper! But, that aside, sounds promising, and Nixon, despite working for the Sun, seems to be a respected journalist! Did I mention I don't like the Sun?!;)

STUNNING!
Well hasn't Big Al changed his position since saying The Brew Dog wanted to talk to Palace, which I think was Yesterday.
I hold this in the same esteem as the paper reports which didn't agree with my view, but I would say £17M will a buy back of £40M is a significant shift from the £20M-25M with a buy back of £37M which was being touted before.

£17M is about right for him, and leaves us some spendo's which is needed for elsewhere.

I’m hoping Steve Parish issues a response to the story this afternoon.

Feels reasonable. Best case scenario and Brewster smashes it, we can cave to the demands of some of our fans and spend £40 million signing Callum Robinson back.
this is actually all just a long game ploy for luring a disillusioned dean henderson back after two seasons warming the bench for an overpaid spaniard

A buy back clause doesn’t necessarily mean that once they trigger it he has to go back, just means they don’t have to negotiate a fee with us if they wanted him. Need this sorted for the weekend.

The sun have been exclusively reporting for leeds over the last month or so.

Every day , a different full page spread on a new potential signing.

First it was Ibra, then Cavani... then we saw Rodrigo De Paul, then Campana, then Cantwell, then Koopemeiners

In fact today alone the sun have reported Cantwell, Koopmeiners and now it's fucking Michael Cuisance....all in the space of 5 hours!!!

It's the sun, Nixon belongs to them.

If that's legit, 17m and and 40m back, bring it on. Far better than I could have hoped for in all honesty.

If that isn't total bs like most of the speculation has been, I'm really happy with this. A couple of points :

1). 17m doesn't sound all too much for a player with that level of experience (judging by recent transfers anyhow).

2). 40m buy back means we make 23m profit and he has to have performed well for us for that clause to even be considered by Liverpool.

3). I know we like players to 'play for the shirt' but if he is keen on eventually getting back to Anfield, he will be trying his hardest to impress which will be of benefit to us as well.

Does he mean Liverpool won't agree it?
Edit, I misunderstood. He was talking about person tweeting

He's hilarious. Yesterday we're out of it, as the player wants to talk to Palace, today we're in.
Even allowing for the fact that things change quickly, he's been way off with this all the way as he's been positive that there is other interest, namely Palace, and we can't afford the deal. It seems quite clear that we have been confident throughout that we were the only show in town, either that or we've just got the world biggest bollocks when it comes to a stare down.

Feel like wilder more or less pleading with the board for something to happen might have taken this a step forward.

Still feels unlikely but certainly would give everyone a boost.

Also suggests it’s a new, increased bid, despite all the upper Tier ITKs declaring No Bids. Because he would never admit to past duff info.
