Am I a scout now? I don’t know, my job is surveying buildings, I don’t get paid to scour the globe for up and coming potential Premier League game changers. If only football clubs had that luxury.
No that's my point entirely

That Hemmigham tweet/article about us being allowed to structure the deal however we want... Is absolutely bizarre!

I feel it's missing a key point, e.g. the buy back clause, or... It's a highly elaborate part of the Brewster signing announcement 😎

True, Liverpool seem to have put plenty of work/options into this transfer only for us not to be even arsed to respond with a bid of any kind?

Well you haven’t done a very good job of making it. You’ve implied, or at the very least I’ve inferred, that you believe the very best players we could have bought for the money we spent were the ones we got, even though we’ve already binned two of them off. Of course we’ll never know if that’s the case because we can’t replay the season with a different squad.

Could we have signed Watkins for the same price as Robinson last season? Would he have done any better? I don’t know and neither do you, but it’s a possibility.

Don’t think it’s bizarre. I think it’s obvious who is the source of the information that is being reported. It’s a clear tactic to put pressure on the clubs owners.

You stated quite clearly you didn't think the players we signed were good enough even though we finished 9th
I asked you who you thought we could have signed instead and you said you're a house surveyor

option C - recognise the need during the final 3rd of previous season. Identify your targets. Start negotiations early and secure one of you’re leading targets before a ball is kicked.

That sounds like you’d just sign Player B much earlier. Fair enough. I’m sure there would in that scenario currently be criticism that we weren’t ambitious enough with our targets, missing out on the likes of Player A because we were so eager to settle for a lesser and easier target.

We have obviously identified our targets long in advance – we just haven’t given up on this one just yet.

Far from “stating quite clearly”, I actually said Chris Wilder didn’t otherwise he wouldn’t have got rid of two of them.

This all started because I made the point that the board might actually question how their money was being spent, given that we’re already replacing two of last year’s record signings. Is it an outlandish suggestion that we might possibly have spent our money more wisely? In any instance, I never gave my opinion. I’d actually have liked us to have kept Freeman. I thought he was a good signing and looked good whenever he played.

You can’t even get my job right. I never said I survey houses, I only survey university buildings. 😉

We might not have been able to pre-plan/arrange to sign Brewster, because of his circumstances (plus, you know, the pandemic).

I really think he'll sign imminently. I'm not thrown off by this Examiner article.

No way the Prince and Co turn down an opportunity to buy Brewster, particularly if it's under £20mill.

Regardless of having to be tight, careful, losing money, etc. We are in the prem after all, we aren't going to go bankrupt. Parachute payments as well. There's a way to finance anything when you've got incomings like that.

And I'm pretty tight and sensible.

Just chill everyone, he's signed.
He's playing pool in the Cricketers with Wilder, trying to get as many pints in as possible before 22:00.

I have a philosophical question.

If Niceguy Eddie utters a statement in the woods and Bruce Wayne isn't around to hear him. Is he still wrong? ;)

So Ramsdale is an option b player?

So Ramsdale is an option b player?

Surely Hendo was still option A until Man Utd gave him that ludicrous contract and expected us to pay his wages in full for another loan

Although I see it more as 1a and 1b, I'd suspect Ramsdale was always on the radar especially as it became apparent Bournemouth may get relegated

So one thing that is very noticeable from Liverpool’s transfer strategy is that they try to balance the books in that before they spend, they sell for a similar value.

Take the blades all we have done for the last three years is spend, no balance.

And yes, we have sold in previous years but for peanuts when you look at who we’ve sold and what they have become.

Maybe we need to sell at a PL market rate...
