I've not seen that interview tbh. But I'm sure he must feel frustrated at the length of time this is taking, just like we all do. Whether that frustration is aimed at our board though is a different matter. It may be aimed at others, such as the Liverpool board, or manager, or even the player himself. I don't think we know. What we do know is that the board have backed him very well up to now and he's acknowledged them for doing so. So I'm more inclined to think it's general frustration, possibly made worse by events at Villa Park last night.

If it's going to be, it's going to be. And if it isn't, there'll be others.

Obviously he's frustrated about bringing in a striker ! He was wound up due to the circumstances of defeat.
No doubt the ref was wrong on both calls but as Wilder said Egan was badly positioned for the incident ,its not the first time either.
What also disappoints me is he lost the grapple with Watkins a centre back cant afford to do that he had to put him down as the incident started he wasnt physical enough to do that.
Of our back three we only have O'Connell who is really robust do we need more height and muscle back there ? I think we do.
We have been watched closely and it won't have gone un noticed! We arnt the biggest or most physical team no matter how we are perceived.

Agree - it will just take take for the others to adapt to how he plays and what he can do. With the exception of Mousset, balls down the channels and in-behind were pointless.

He's still only young but I thought he showed promising signs - he played with a hunger of someone that knows this is probably his last shot with a club in the top flight.

I think bogle could certainly be useful in improving our attacking output long term. But I think berge and ampadu couldn’t reallly be classed as attacking players.

The unfortunate fact is when we were looking for a way back into the game yesterday we had to rely on Ben Osborn for flair / creativity. It’s not ideal for me.

I think since the restart last season Osborn has been significantly better than fleck. If Osborn starts the next game over him then it is fully deserved.

I thought there were a lot of badly executed attempts to do just that yesterday, mainly because Burke was isolated against 2 or 3 men meaning our midfield lads needed to play an inch perfect pass to get him away. It worked for the penalty we won but we never got him free after that but easy enough for Villa to defend against it and drop deeper when they have a spare man. It’ll come I think...

especially when one of their defenders is playing on one leg.

We needed to sit Burke on Konsa’s shoulder. Try and play out a little bit and then send Burke down the channel.

yes we were tired and working hard, but the midfield took the easy option and knocked it long too often.

fleck was guilty of 2/3 poor forward balls in the space of about 5 mins when Konsa was struggling and we were having a spell.
