We need to put a deadline on this nonsense now and if nothing is sorted, move on to other targets quickly.

We've been chasing this lad for weeks now and don't seem any closer to getting him in.

Either he, Liverpool, or both are just messing us about and we run the risk of ending up without him or any other striker coming in. It feels like we are being used to start an auction for him and if that is the case, we all know we'll be outbid.
Do you listen to what Wilder says or do you think he tells porkies. We have to be cute in the market as we dont have funds to just go in and put the money on the table.
Most transfers are negotiated anyway we just have probably negotiate more than most.
Wilder says he likes to get the transfers done early ,other clubs have other idea's .Looking for the best deal for them. Our CEO must be a good negotiator as he pulls off some good deals for us ! but he cant rush it ! takes two to tango.

Unitedites would do well to look at how Everton have nurtured DCL. For the first couple of years he looked like he’d never make a top class striker, but look at him now, he is flying, scoring a hat-trick today!! UTB
What we would give to have him in our squad today. I hold my hand up, I was not especially disappointed when he left and I didn’t think he would cut it at Everton. Shows how much I know! He’s exactly the sort of player we could also with now.

Bertrand Traore now signed from Lyon for Villa for 17 million completing Villa's major summer signings.

Mate, fans commenting on things that they are, at best, speculating about and at worst just making up, is what’s most embarrassing on this thread.
We’ve pages of posters deciding that they know what’s happening, they then moan when it doesn’t happen.

Are they angry at SUFC, or angry at themselves for spending hours a day on this thread? 👀🤯

Not sure on how many more wheels need to turn before this becomes a thing... Thiago now Jota.. gotta be now or never surely?

Hi mate, not to jump on your back, but I think you're jumping to conclusions and working yourself up.

Not really. Are we still in the same position as we were when this was first rumoured? Yes. Are we trying to lowball offers for top talents?

None of the above is factual, it's speculation, based on speculation.

Thinking more along the line of. "We want X y z" if it's agreeable awesome. If not, we're willing to pay x amount, we'll give you a week to think about it.

We'd lose out on the vast majority of our targets if we behaved like this in the transfer market. It's the sort of behaviour/attitude that is only useful if you hold all the cards.

Your probably right man. Just frustrating seeing us seemingly making no progress.

I'll be just as frustrated as you if the transfer window closes, and we haven't signed an adequate striker. Based on Wilder's track record and comments in the media, I would be amazed if that's the case.

We have a small budget, so to stretch it as far as we can, we'll need patience. The track record of Wilder and his recruitment team justifies that patience IMO.

He will be off to palace if he is watching this inspired exhilarating football lol

The more Liverpool spend the more they need to recoup....the more our loan bid will be laughed at.

Seems to have gone quiet in the twattersphere. Let's hope this is already tied up and announced on Monday.

There’s only so many times the same quotes and rumours can be regurgitated given the absence of actual credible information and this thread has already had an extra 50 pages off it.

Would it surprise me more than reading this crap and then noticing who wrote it?

The truth clearly hurts hence why you have no response other than a childish dig.

Because it is has been clear for a very long time that we needed that extra quality up top because apart from McBurnie we don't have anyone that has been ever present in the team always chopping and changing and for us that is not good enough I.M.O

If we are serious about staying in this league we have to invest in better quality strikers and a new attacking midfielder that can help provide the service for our strikers.

Because we lack creativity Norwood Fleck and Berge are not attacking midfielders and it shows.

I would get rid of Norwood if I were wilder and sell him for a big profit and go for a better quality attacking midfielder I.M.O

Was only last season many of our fans were saying he was shit and they wouldn't want him back 🙈

Very true however, there are usually a few that post on here say something like 'done deal' or 'stop worrying, he's signed'

Seems a little quiet for something that we are a hoping for, is imminent.

The idea that the premier league champions, 6 time European champions and world wide name of Liverpool football club need to sell any players is absolute bollocks.

It depends how you define need.

They're a commercial powerhouse, playing in the PL and generate plenty of income, so they don't need to sell players to keep the lights on.

However, they aren't in the same position as Man City or Chelsea. If they want to match either club in terms of budget, then they probabaly do need to sell.

According to TalkSport:
Liverpool have spent wisely and with Klopp at the helm to bring it all together as they remain on course for a record breaking season. In the four-and-a-half years he has been at Anfield, he has bought 33 players at a cost of £401million. Having recouped £327m, their net spend has been just £74m since October 2015.

They would complain about his wages and not tracking back.

I think they'd all be happy about us paying him £1m a week as it meant our wage structure was finally suitable for "Prem wages" and then they'd get pissed off when the club went bankrupt off the back of it and say we should have stuck to our wage structure.

The only way you could ever go for players like Messi is if you have a Sheikh Mansour or the ones at PSG behind you.

It would be financial suicide for the rest to even try.

The reason for that is seriously skewed by the sale of Coutinho he netted them 180 million

That is all well and good but it is getting tedious now it has been clear for several months what was needed.
As has been acknowledged described / explained (ad nauseum) for "several months" on here, (to you & your ilk) , and indeed by the manager of the Football Club that need is fully recognised with (significant ?) efforts energies & endeavours (allegedly ?) being expended in (seeking?) to address / resolve & most importantly IMPROVE

When you need a mew motor let me know & Ill have in outside your house within the hour guaranteed - 20 grand - deal

PS it will be blue

I know right...but actually true(ish). Total revenues are around £500M pa but operational costs (wages, bonuses, running costs (training grounds) depreciation etc) is around £475M. Wages are c£250M but with their success comes huge bonus payments to attract players on lower wages than say Man City. Their owners want the club to be 100% self sufficient and don’t want to take on debt to service. So player sales are the main way of generating net new funds for transfers. Also there is an accounting anomaly where the profit from player sales is shown at day 1 where in truth the payments are received over a number of years. So when they sold Countinho for £125M whilst the profit looks very strong the reality is actual cash to spend may be significantly lower. I personally think it’s a very smart model and is sustainable if of course success is maintained. The issue is that a number of key players at top of the pitch are late 20’s so it will be interesting how they replace them.
