One loss in the Premier League to a very good side. Same result as last season at Burnley may as well toss a coin as do penalties, the result is the same with 5 new players picked btw.
JOC to Liverpool ................... 💩 stirrer

No its the run of defeats and lack of goals that concerns me. not losing to Wolves.

You forgot....

9. Completely irrational yet predictable over reactions to a couple of early season results. Taking little or no account of how our current management team and players perform over the course of a season.

I am sure had social media been around in the mid 70's the same comments would have been made. Didn't stop us plummeting quicker than a diving Klinsman though did it?

Just like a virus ,certain posters need the right conditions before they appear
Noticed you've been pretty quiet last few years I'm now looking forward to your ultra negative views becoming more prevalent as they were pre wilder

Another newbie ....

Well since lockdown we've been pretty shit. But dont let the facts get in the way of the rose tinted spectacles.

Last season we lost 3 of the first 4 league home games and played crap in the LC losing 1-0 to at home to League One Sunderland.

Were you panicking the same then?

And comparing it to Furphy? 😂😂😂

Whoosh. Obviousy over your bonce.

You could have put both comments in one reply old chap.

Anyway, I can do a list too...

1. We have a progressive manager who doesn't live in the past like some, or share their sense of inferiority.

2. Post lockdown we did have a few shit performances, but also played a few blinders. Overall, lower mid table.

3. If my glasses are rose tinted, then what are your's tinted with? Can you not find anything to be happy about in terms of this club right now? Christ almighty man, we have just had the best ride in decades, two promotions, putting the pigs in their place along the way, and getting a fairly solid foothold in the world's best league.

Personally, I think we are just getting started. Clearly you think it is time to pack up and go home.

You are in your element here pal, thread domination.

No just read the comments.

Daft thing is most haven't got the point. Clearly not much brains here. The points really come down to money, and ageing (and ineffective) strikeforce but it does sound a bit similar to where we were in 1975 and of course didn't know it. Plus it is no wins in 5 games. I'd say that was pretty poor. Some of us have been here all before.

I hope this Brewester kid arrives and as they say 'hits the ground running'.

We'll see.

Not really, but results have been pretty bollocks for five games now. Is this not Wilder's worst run at SUFC?

The whole point of the OP was to look beyond the obvious. Clearly lost on most.

We'll see what happens on Monday but if it's another piggng defeat it's gonna be tough digging out of this one with 'interesting fixtures to come.

I think CWAK is the best thing to happen to SUFC but..... the lack of crowds is having a greater effect on us I would argue (point missed by all the replies), lack of money = lack of investment where it matters ie goal scoring. Not impressed by McBurnie or Mousset so far, sorry. Its goals that win games not how hard you work or how quickly you run.

I have heard all this before, after two games in his 1st and 3rd season. Both times we allegedly hadn't spent enough to compete and were in for a tough time. Both times it ended in promotion.

Let's give it a few games before we start jumping off the nearest cliff eh?

I am not jumping off a cliff, but a loss to Villa with frigging Leeds to come and a piss poor attack c'mon man get real. Can Deano still play? Also we realy are in a totally different league to then!! You cant compare PL to L1/Chumpionship (sic)

Sorry have we already lost to Villa? Did I miss that one? They might be a bit better now but they were dogshit last season.

As for Leeds, a local derby but like us haven't won a game yet. So clearly they have the advantage?!

In case you've forgotten, we played rather well at this level last season. We aren't aliens stepping foot off the ship for the first time.

Well you seem to forget we haven't won at Villa despite on two occassions being a 3-0 up and then drawing with them when they were in the bottom 3 and we were 5/6th. As for Leeds did they not win here last time out? One of Hendersons daft mistakes.

As I said we will see. At least Villa have won in the last 5 games.

You seem to be making the error of judgement that because we 'nearly made Europe' we'll be ok. What I was suggesting was a not unreasonable proposition of why since last Spring we've not been that good . . . . and it's a combination of factors. The most crucial being lack of goals.

We did this off course first season back in the Championship but I think we all agreed it was the loss of Coutts. Not scoring enough goals is a much bigger problem when you have an ageing legend and a somewhat lacklustre strike partner up front.

1. Covid financial impact

2. Covid lack of fans impact

3. Owner needing to make infrastructure purchases

4. Ageing strikeforce

5. 2nd season slight over confidence syndrone

6 Inabiity to get strikers to score goals

7 Injuries

8 Furphy good season syndrone (I hope history is not repeating itself here).

2 goals in five, 4 loses 1 draw. gulp not looking all that encouraging but I suggest the above factors are a major cause of where we are. We haven't got much dosh for a variety of reasons and cant get the players in we want. I trust JOC is not part of the Brewster 'deal'.

We need something out of the Villa game next week.
what is 2ND SEASON SLIGHT OVERCONFIDENCE syndrome
id guess the chances of CWAK letting any of our players get over confident

4 losses , counting the last 3 games of last season as it backs uop your theory is a bit selective
why not add the prevous 10 from 9 and 3 against spus and chelsea

we suddenly havent become shite

no first teamers left
hate to point out but all the other 19 clubs strikers have aged exactly the same amount

doubt if the loss of Coutts can count , as he never came back really the following season
Brooks was also out for most the second half of the season as were several others

you seem to gloss over the fact only failed goal line technology stopped us winning at Villa last season and put some theory about us being 5th and them in bottom 3 ,
whatever difference that makes
our main reason we did well was organisation and defence
it will be in our favour this season too

as to scoring goals , mc burnie scored 5 in his first full prem season
exactly the same number jamie vardy did his first season
if you were a Leicester fan would you have spouted kick that shit vardy out

You surely can't put that as a comparison? Mcburnie will never ever get anywhere near the quality of Vardy, infact ill stick my neck out an say mcburnie will never make a Premier league quality striker I dont even think he'll be playing prem football within 2 seasons be that with us or somebody else. I think his purple patch at Swansea papered over some obvious weaknesses in his game just like Leon's purple patch with us he looked good but deep down we knew he was fucking awful. Im notj umping on the mcburnie band wagon but I just dont ever see him been good enough for this level hope I'm proved wrong.

well who knows
as I said vardy got 5 in his first season , hed have looked them like mcburnie looks to you
only 5 we have to get someone in
its ollies first time in the prem
hes hopefully learnt a lot , but to write off any player after 1 season is madness
many wrote off coutts and basham and ,,,well I could go on

You are incredibly negative and its way too premature!

So what if this is Wilder's worst run of matches since he took over? He's been in charge for over 4 years and transformed us from a mid table L1 team to almost qualifying for Europa League in that time. Our managerial team at the helm is the envy of the majority of football clubs in this country that wish they also could be transformed completely from the wilderness to being really competitive among the elite! Every football manager has bad runs of matches at some point and no matter how legendary Wilder and Knill have been for us they are no exception. We're Sheffield United not Man City so if you think a club of our size should never go on a win-less run of 5 or more especially at this level then you're going to be massively disappointed (in fact you obviously already are) and I would advise you to find some other passion or entertainment in life if you are having trouble accepting this fact.

"We'll see what happens on Monday but if it's another piggng defeat it's gonna be tough digging out of this one with 'interesting fixtures to come."

Again so what if we lose again on Monday? What exactly is this hole we've got to dig out of when there'll still be another 36 matches of the season left to play??

"Not impressed by McBurnie or Mousset so far, sorry. Its goals that win games not how hard you work or how quickly you run."

Admittedly these two weren't as outstanding last season as much as we'd hoped but it was never going to be easy for us or them with it being the first season in the Prem, which if you've quickly forgotten still ended in success and exceeded beyond what we could've imagined. Now however they are a season wiser at this level and also a season wiser playing in our unique system, at least neither are going to become any worse and in all likelihood will only improve.

So get a grip, it's too early to be this worried but it is OK to be concerned as am I. However I'm not throwing the towel in just yet and neither are CWAK and our team. They've all worked immensely hard to get to this level and not a single one of them will want to throw it all away all of a sudden.

We rely on fitness and organisation more than most.
No we don’t. It’s vitally important, of course, but is for every single team going. It’s not like Liverpool can just rock up and it happens for them! Fitness and organisation (shape etc) are as important for every team, we are no different in that aspect.

We'll have to agree to disagree, because I don't think you could be more wrong. If every team had the same standards in terms of fitness/organisation, and relied on it equally, we wouldn't have had much of an edge last year, would we?

In terms of fitness, it's evident in the numbers too. A team that presses more, and play in a physically demanding style cover more miles in a game, and expend more energy.

As for organisation; I find it bewildering that a Sheff Utd fan could possibly think that all teams rely on their organisation equally. The fact we conceded so few goals was not down to chance or even the technical ability of our players; it was far more about organisation and shape.

O come on, there's a reason he's called himself Bladefisher he's just looking for bites,
Obviously a supporter of one of the local lower league clubs, no bites no Bladefisher.....

Mind he'll probably join again under another name, if he hasn't already.......... 🙉

Why do you keep saying 5 games? We’ve only played twice this season and one of those games was in the cup.

Nope vardy has a killer instinct and pace always has always will. He's a goal scorer plain and simple Mcburnie is not and will not ever have either of them traits. Ill donate £100 to children's hospital if he scores 10 league goals in a season within 2 seasons 👍🏻
