I'll continue to update this for those who couldn't watch live and wanted to see what was said.

PA: Prince Abdullah
MAS: Musa Abdulla Saud
SB: Stephen Bettis

What is your opinion of the first season in the PL?

PA: We had a great year, but the 2nd year will be even tougher. Thinks it will be a good year. Its a difficult league, but we have a good team, bought promising players and hopes fans will be allowed back soon.

MAS: Thinks we had a great transfer market and will have a good season.

Do you still plan to expand Bramall Lane even though the club don't own the land at the back of the club?

PA: We have had a very unusual off season, and first team building is important but will be doing 2 or 3 things with the ground next summer.

SB: We have planning permission for an extension to the kop, which factors in the land we don't own, so that won't be an issue.

The ground was full almost all games last season, will we be expanding the seating in the stadium?

SB: We have great support and there are 100% plans for us to expand the stadium, south stand and the kop particularly. We want to get to around 40,000+. We lost a few seats last season and we would like to get those back + add to it in the long term.

What are you doing to assure you continue to develop and improve Sheffield United?

MAS: From a business perspective we want to have a financially stable club. That's the most important thing. We have a great manager and had a good transfer window and hope to continue this in future.

How much debt has the club had to take on with the purchase of the club? Is it similar to the Glazer family at Man United?

PA: The fans needen't be worried, the club has to pay it however it is under my personal guarantee. If we are in the PL for the next 5 years there shouldn't be any problems. Of course Coronavirus has impacted the club but we still believe we are in good shape.

Coronavirus has affected all clubs, but what impact does it have on our club?

PA: We're looking at a hit of around 20 million pounds, some clubs will be less some more. Money is not the most important thing, many people lost their lives. I'm proud of how we handled it, we never relied on any government payments throughout. We still spent in the transfer market and I believe if Coronavirus wasn't around we would have done better with fans in the stadium, but it affected the whole world not just us. We could have done many good things with the 20million we lost, but we can't complain. We will move forward and I am optimistic about the future.

SB: 20Million losses isn't the most important as lives were lost however we are/have made plans around the loss of the 20 million, and we hope something like this doesn't happen again, however we have put ourselves in a place where we are sustainable. We're still losing money whilst games are behind closed doors but hopefully sometime soon the world will get back to normal.

What about season tickets?

SB: We won't be putting any plans in place until things are more clear.

The progress over the last 4 years is phenomenal, what do you expect the next 4 years to hold?

PA: I would hope to become an established PL team. Then become a top 10 side and pushing for Europe. We need to continue to build the team and improve in the future. I agree with Chris and I believe this window has been the best window since I've been here.

MAS: I was us to become an established PL for 10 years or more. We want people to think of the club and say they are always there, similar to teams like Everton.

SB: The gulf between the income between PL and Championship allows you to improve, so staying in the PL has to be the number 1 priority.

Prince Abdullah responds to SB with a question.

PA: Stephen, can you update us with the current first team building, and also the projects planned for next year.

SB: We are currently in consultation for the new first team training facility, once that's over we can get planning permission and then we can start construction. The way it is being made will make it less of an impact to the current first team training. The new building should be completed by early next year. We looked at the Kop about taking pillars out, however they got put on hold due to financial impact due to Coronavirus, and we will revisit those options for next season.

The new first team building will be 'state of the art'. We are using the same company where a lot of PL clubs have used in the past, Bournemouth inpaticular.

PA: Can I tell you a story? Chris called me at the end of last season and said I don't care about transfers, I really want a first team training building. I disagreed, but I'm happy to know Chris was right and I was wrong, but we ended up having both, he's very pursuasive.

Do you think we can build on last season and would you allow new players to come in to improve us, if we were pushing Europe, or struggling with Relegation battle?

PA: Fans should look at what we did last years, we shouldn't just look at new players coming in. Last season we gave new contracts to existing players who were performing really well, which is just as important as signing new players. We have managed to look after our team mid way through the season. We also managed to keep all our players, and didn't sell anyone, which is sometimes easy to do when players have such a good season. We had an enquiry for at least 1 player in January, we said no. Actions speak louder than words.

Interesting that all the club staff are being moved over to the Enterprise Centre now the club owns it again. That would presumably mean works to the South Stand in the future.

From the sounds of it both the Kop and South Stand approved plans are the ones we’ll eventually go with. No rethink on that.

" The fans needen't be worried, the club has to pay it however it is under my personal guarantee. If we are in the PL for the next 5 years there shouldn't be any problems. Also a slightly strange answer about the stadium development next summer. Does that come at a cost of spending money on players?

hope it’s not at the cost of the transfer budget

So the purchase of the Derby duo passed by a vote of 3-2 board members, with the no's stating we were already over budget.

Mortgage will be repaid with two years provided we remain a premier league club. PA is the guarantor. He asks fans to be aware of the financial gambles he has already personally taken on when it comes to transfer windows.

Hotel close to being taken on by internationally renowned company. They think fan experience will improve at hotel. Bettis inspired by Anfield fan areas and has ideas for BL stemming from his tour there. Also cladding issues that need resolving on hotel for safety reasons.

Already over budget? Must have been a pitiful budget then.
Ramsdale - 18.5m
Lowe and Bogle - £12m
  • Ampadu loan fee
  • as stated at the time the fee for Berge was taken from this summers fund - £22

Add to the around £20m in lost revenue due to Covid and I think we have spent quite a lot.

£53m spent with us being £20m down from projections seems like good spending in my opinion.

Are we the one club in the world that pays transfer fees in one lump sum then?

I don’t think those figures are right for a start - no way we paid £18.5m up front for Ramsdale or £12m for the Derby pair. And Berge was bought last season so the Board saying that comes out of this year’s budget is a bit small time. It’s our 2nd season in the PL with the multi-millions that brings. Our budget needs to reflect that or we are going to struggle.

The prince confirmed and said it would have been our record transfer were it not for the sell on fee, so unfortunately it is c18m we’ve paid for ramsdale. Would have been 22.5m without - that does seem steep!

with fair reasons behind it but absolutely nothing on the forum suggested to me we were about to imminently drop 20m on Brewster. Think a loan is infinitely more likely.

So we've got to earn at least half a billion pounds in the next five years for us to not have any problems.

RM true, a lot for us...but not a lot by Premiership standards. However we now know where we stand, the Prince has clearly put in as much as he can. Any talk about signing Brewster look well wide of the mark, it has to be a loan

The manager has made it clear we are signing a striker (not necessarily Brewster). There was nothing in the forum to say that wouldn’t happen. I don’t get some of the negativity. I thought it was positive and the club is in good hands.

It's almost as if we have the least wealthy owner in the league and are playing catch up commercially too....

Interesting that if not for covid break shortening the window kop poles could be done. Club also looking at getting the office corner in house. I wonder if media will be put there so the temporary box gets taken away freeing up more seats there too.
