On the Burke behind the scenes at the end the tunnel is gone and the walls around getting clad in black also!

I actually emailed the groundskeeper sometime last year about that and he said they were instructed upon a safety inspection to ‘highlight the step noses to avoid injury’ what a load of crap.
The last colour you see before you pass out is Yellow...

Another angle courtesy of Twitter. Looks like the sponsor board in the middle is hopefully on its way down as well!
They need to remove those posters of players modelling the kits, otherwise it negates the red and white stripes effect and also makes it look like a discount sportswear megastore.

The black paint makes it look much better, but the lack of cladding above the Blades badge where they've removed the sign that was there previously completely screws it.

Dave's just gone round to the shed to see if they've got any red paint left.

Theyve done a great job with this.

Watford did a similar transformation at vicarage rd around the whole ground and it looks really smart.

For a modern day EPL club aspiring to be a top end player this is polishing a turd for me.

We need a new stand if we are truely ambitious, not a lick of paint.

Indeed. But let's firstly stay in the Prem a couple of years, see when crowds are allowed back in and gauge how much appetite folk have in attending mass gatherings when that day does arrive.
Then let's evaluate whether or not to spend huge money on a big new stand.

Personally I think, for now, that this is a decent enough start along with the new training ground building. It's clear the board acknowledge things need to improve off the field and this is a very small step in the right direction.

I’ve been saying this for years, we take the piss out of Wednesday for the state of their ground, but unfortunately the Lane isn’t much better. We’ve just done a few bit here and there to keep it looking presentable or as you put it, polishing a turd.

I have no problem with a lick of paint to keep the place from looking like a run down shit hole, but we really need some long term plans to bring the Lane into the 21st century.

We’ve been through all this about half a dozen times. If you want a new house but you can’t afford one yet, will you still clean and decorate your current house until you can or just let it deteriorate and live in a shit hole?

On another note, why anybody wants a new modern prawn sandwich stand is beyond me. A traditional atmospheric, slightly ran down ground full of character is so much better.

Wash your mouth out. It might be a shit hole, but it's our shit hole, and the oldest professional shit hole in the world. Don't go bringing that cesspit into the conversation.
