I've had a pack of Discos. We all know the best bit is the flavouring left in the bottom of the bag. I'll give them most of that for 2 years. Best I can do.

What's port match analysis?

Port match analysis:

"There was definitely a match"

One of Gordon Strachan's yoghurts. Still within sell by date.

I don't mean any offence to Danny's efforts, but I don't need the Star any more, they're less and less relevant. Unless they reinvent their services in some way.

"Ad-lite" - so you would still have to put up with adverts, just less of them

"Over 100 Star-exclusive sport articles every week" - what sports are they going to be talking about? It's fairly unlikely they are going to be writing anything abiut united that isn't reported elsewhere.

So, no thanks.

Thing is if all newspaper’s online efforts go under because nobody’s willing to pay for that information who’s going to take their place?

I used to pay for the Star every night purely for the info on United. I was happy to do it.

It was only (after one particular occasion) when I realised just how biased they were (at that time) that I stopped buying it.

If there are no journalists reporting who’s going to take their place?

It’s alright taking the piss at a less than £40 subscription (76p per week) but it’s value is pretty good.

The thing is no-one will pay it while there are alternatives online to get the information.

But gradually those sources will go under because of lack of funds and then we’ll be left with the likes of Sky Sports to squeeze us a mention in between Man Utd and Chelsea.

They genuinely think their product is worth £40?

The Yorkshire Examiner provides way better coverage. I'd pay not to read James Shield's "journalism."

They have got to pay for this seasons SOO (save our pigs) campaign somehow.
