No. That’s Ravel. Can tell it isn’t recent there’s no studio in the corner between Kop/south stand
Ah right just put oli Burke in on Twitter earlier and that photo popped up

I would be very annoyed and underwhelmed at this signing.

I was also very annoyed and underwhelmed last year when we signed Mousset.

So I will reserve my judgement.

Having said that.. still confused at the deal. Why a loan? Is it a swap? Swap plus cash to loan? Never heard of a deal like that. What if he rips it up for us and then wba stay up and then they just take him back to play up top with an also rejuvenated Robinson? Seems a weird deal. I can’t think of a deal that wilder has been behind where we haven’t come off better. I feel like with this deal we are leaving ourselves open for that to be the case. Again, not sure, will wait and see and no doubt be proved wrong.

After 2pages of typical blades banter about his body image, I do hope Burke doesn’t have a fragile ego, when someone shows him this thread. 😂😂😂
If Wilder was hoping to build the lads confidence, we just made his job a bit harder .......

Star this morning saying Burke/Robinson deal should be completed today

If it's a loan, with an "option" to buy then fair enough

If it's a loan with an "obligation" to buy, then less so, as I'm sure Wilder isn't certain what he's getting. Nothing has turned out well for Burke where he's been this last few seasons. Are we to be another failed statistic for him, or will Wilder turn him into another success?

He'll be one of three things. A McGoldrick, a Hogan or a Morrison. This has got 'let's give it a try, it's low risk" written all over it. We'll probably never know the financial details of the deal, but it's not like CW has ever shafted us in that regard. Quite the opposite in fact.

I think you're spot on with that.

The thing that intrigues me most from what I've read about this lad Burke, is that he's got a combination of great pace, great strength and the mind of a duck (apparently). At least that's how several articles have painted him. I've read that he's totally tactically unaware. We might have to remind him which way we're kicking? But, it sounds like, if we can get him running the right direction, and remind him to take the ball with him, he could be an amazing asset. I'm really looking forward to this one, perhaps more than any of the signings we've made so far. Because I've a feeling it's going to be great entertainment watching him - never quite knowing what he's going to do next! Some of it brilliant, some of it awful! Should be a reyt laugh! 😆

Surely we aren’t talking Forrest Gump level here are we?? Can he be that tactically inept that he basically is asked to just chase either the ball, after the ball, and when you get it just hit it

Kinda feels like if he didn't have above average strength and pace he wouldn't be allowed anywhere near a footy field.

I'm sure most people would agree his technical ability and finishing is definitely not premier league level. (Possibly not even Championship?)

How did the Mousset signing 'annoy' you?

Why would the Burke deal 'annoy' you?

We've signed lots of players we (fans) universally wanted that tuned out to be garbage.

We've signed lots of players we didn't want that turned out to be legends.

We've signed lots of players that fall in-between those categories.

Horse for courses. Some will work some won't.

But they stand a better chance when they are given one.
