Chris Wilder been touted for the England job by a fair few people tonight who are well and truly fed up with Gareth Southgates negative tactics

Obviously as a Blade the last thing i would want to see is Chris Wilder leave our club, but I think if he was given the job by the F.A I think he may find that hard to turn down.

It's hilarious when you think about it that Gareth Southgate is England manager and Chris Wilder is Sheffield United manager. The roles are the wrong way round when you look at tactical awareness, motivation and track record.

Its a part time job. 20% football, 80% ambassador/representative.

Southgates perfect for the FA: nice, polite, boring. He fulfils that 80% perfectly. As long as we qualify for World Cups and Euros, the 20% is secondary.

To be honest, from a football POV, we may as well give it to Harry Redknapp. He can do it semi-retired, do the cheeky chappy media stuff. His previous “misdemeanours” seem to have been buried as far as the general public goes (my Mum watched the jungle and loves him ). And at least for the 20% of the time he was actually being a football manager, he’d probably pick a side to have a go and at least gee them up a bit.

Chris Wilder lives and breathes the game and has done all his life- no way he would be happy doing the international stuff; he’s a day to day man. He’s too good for England or any international job, as are any managers worth their salt.

Given the state of the international game it's a step down for any Prem manager. Gareth Southgate doesn't have the job based on the list of managerial successes to his name.

England can fuck right off, they can go get someone else, Wilder can go in 30 years after he has finished his quest to make us the greatest team in the world.

I'm fed up of Southgate, turned into every other England manager, we do need someone like Wilder, but I don't want Wilder to leave and so I'd say Sean Dyche or Eddie Howe wouldn't be too bad a choice, in fact we should be looking at Gary Monk, after his team pulled off the most fantastic win against league 2 Walsall.

Lampard isn't that bad. While he's not a top tier tactical manager at the moment, he's got something about him, you can tell he's not a yes man so that rules him out.

Howe is the best you'd get for England if you're going English. He's polite and quite well spoken, and doesn't show too much emotion but at least he'd play attacking football.

This England team is fast becoming the worst I've ever seen despite it probably being the best on paper since the mid 90s. No character at all. Beige as a football team.

I think England have some talented attacking players and a shitload of quality RB/RWBs but lack any class central midfielders. I think the fact that Phillips started the Denmark game says it all. Who would be our first choice, maybe Henderson and Rice?

It feels to me as though England need to play 5-3-2 but Southgate is obsessed with having Sancho, Sterling and Kane as a front three. I think he could fit them into a 5-3-2 or something similar with Kane up top and either of the other two as a 9 and two 10's or two 9's and a 10. However the problem is that puts a lot of responsibility on the two central mids and I don't think we've got enough quality there which means you then have to expect two of the front three to help out defensively and I don't think any of those three are good enough defensively.

Play 5-2-3, just have decent ball players as wing backs.

Chilwell and TAA would be fine never getting back further than midfield most of the time when you look at the quality of opponent England play most of the time.

Henderson and Grealish in the middle to get stuff started, and whatever 3 forwards are scoring.

Whatever he does in the middle and at the other end I think it's clear England should play 3 at the back with wingbacks, and someone other than Pickford in the net.

I really can't stand managers who come in with their own formation and stick to it stubbornly despite not having the players or having the perfect players for another system.

International managers especially need to be pragmatic, look at what you have.

What do England have, a load of crap defenders, pick the few good ones and put them in the system that gets the best from them.

A world class attacking full back, get him on the wing with a bit less defensive responsibility by playing him as a wingback and having 3 CBs to cover.
