I would guess that if it works out then he may even join permanently in January. My only concern here is that if he does well then there's always the fear that WBA may want more or another club comes in with a higher bid in January, i.e. Villa!

if you have an option to buy they cant ask for more and another club cant gazump you.

its basically a clause saying Sheffield Unity can trigger a purchase for £5m before X date

Maybe - but assuming we don’t have anything up our sleeves striker wise. You don’t think that loan could have gone on another key player we couldn’t afford to bring in on a perm?

A Connor Gallagher / Brewster / loftus cheek Type? Seems a frivolous treatment of a valuable asset in a PL loan, to use it on someone like Burke who we could have afforded or swapped outright presumably?
Take your point- but what if we DO have a striker up our sleeves and this enables us to fund it.

Its a fluid market; what was impossible last week, might be possible this week.

Its going to be interesting anyway.

We must have another striker lined up and I am confident money raised from Robinson, guessing at £4 million will be used towards a permanent signing.
We have not bought anyone from abroad yet, wilder inferred we would and I am confident that Dennis is the man. Although would be happy with him or Brewster which I could see being a purchase with option of them buying back.
Either way exciting times and puts the icing on the cake of a wonderful transfer window which has seen us get real value for money unlike Villa.

given we cant loan Gallagher or Loftus Cheek after getting Amadu as you cant have 2 from the one club that leaves just Brewster.

For all we know Klopp has said hes only going to sell him removing all of these as loan options.

For all we know a striker is lined up to come in as CWAK did mention a foreign signing, or maybe the money were likely to see form the Robbo sale will top up the kitty enough to buy Brewster.

Theres mountains of moving pieces likely going around, I have no doubt another forward will come in weather its a foreign loan or a purchase of a striker we will get another in and Burke is no more frivilous a loan than Besic was last year.

I was just talking in general with those players but you know any highly rated and highly converted player from one of the big boys.... that just struck me as a potentially valuable market in today’s climate.

I’ve no doubt that wilder is playing 3D chess and I’m just say here playing chequers thinking about this but just strikes me as odd.

As you say, Maybe it is a positive in the chase for another forward / maybe Robbos fee will give us the push we need to complete a bigger deal on a perm.

Yep, it’s certainly spiced up the end of the window... and I like the idea of seeing what Burke is about in a try before you buy deal.

I’m sure wilder and the team are one step ahead.

Just to concur with the majority, if it's a loan with a written in stone option to buy, then this would be some outstanding business assuming we're using the cash to buy a permanent striker.

Worry that we'll be looking at getting back around half of what we paid for Robinson though. WBA dropping mad papes aren't they? Didn't expect that I must admit.

Would this still leave us with a foreign loan option? (The kid from bayern)

Aye,
I wouldn't imagine CWAK have considered that - after all they're renowned for their "frivolous" attitudes & approaches

I have a mate who is a big Forest fan. Rates Burke very highly. Interesting bit is that he says Wilder is exactly the type of manager he needs. So fingers crossed.
Burke’s best spell in an English side was when he was mentored by Dougie Freedman at Forest.
The lad just needs a manager who will give him some love and quality coaching. Step forward Chris and Alan.

I don't think Oli Burke coming in on loan impacts the Rhian Brewster deal, as I think the goalposts have moved.

It seems to me from most of the press that Liverpool want to sell Brewster to raise funds for Thiago Alacantra to come in.

Out of interest, and because I'm too lazy to look it up.
Who have been the managers of the clubs that he's played for, excluding Celtic & in Germany.
At Forest and in Spain, maybe the style and tactics that the whole team played were very much to his liking.
Where as at WBA, it could have been the managers style to play lump ball or some other tactic that could be alien to his way of playing.

Megson, Pulis, Moore, Pardew, Bilic at WBA

I like the idea of a loan, if we have an agreed fee in place. Everyone seems to think Burke has the raw materials, so we have a good luck and see. If not he goes back to Albion. We also get Robinsons fee to put towards a permanent striker.

Talk Sport about an hour ago a reporter was saying Liverpools preference with Brewster is to sell with a buy-back clause...

A spread bet on how many games Burke starts for us this coming season? More or less than five?

Foreign based loans don't count also on the 2 max loan rule am I right, so we could still be having a foreign based loan, not that Brewster is foreign based, of course!

If it is a loan I’m quite excited wilder said 3 perm and 2 loans I think everyone assumed Burke would be a punt on a perm with the other striker being a loan from a top club. If Burke is a loan it means it reduces our risk on the punt and potentially opens up a perm for the other striker slot seems the best and least risky way round to do it to me

Less than 5.
Dangerous sub I reckon. Quick as heck for a bit of route one when we're leading, or just playing Man City!

I didn't see a loan deal coming. Especially as it looks on SSN like we have sold Robinson.

Wonder if that additional money means we can sign a £20m striker? Brewster perhaps, or Dennis, or someone none of us have heard of except CWAK........

Interesting

selling someone on a long term deal for half of what we paid for him and getting someone who is no better on a loan Doesn’t jump out at me as great transfer business.

and Burke can do worse than Robinson. He can get no goals and no assists.
