I wasn't sure I'd like it when they were earlier in the process of painting but I think it's really smartened it up now it's nearing completion. As above that old bit of added on signage needs to be removed as for one thing it sets off the OCD in me with it not being central and off to one side. :D We just need to get those pinstripes transferred to the bloody shirts now. ;)

Is the shop still meant to be moving to the corner of Cheery Street/Shoreham Street? If so what's the plan for what is currently the shop I wonder?

Or did those plans get ditched when McCabe buggered off?

Unfortunately the plans to move the shop to the corner of Cherry Street/Shoreham Street were part of McCabe's plans and won't be happening unless "No bigger Blade than me" does the decent thing and sell the land back to the club. Obtaining this parcel of land is of the highest priority for me...... we need to own this before we can commit to improvements to the SS and Kop.

Cheers I had a feeling they were his plans so had gone with him.

Agreed the purchase of the land needs to be done..... I hate to say at any price but if that's what it takes.... Get it done so it's over and done with.

There is absolutely no need for anything here - introduced back in the day to show "Lavers" as the sponsor I believe, and most recently to say "Tony Currie Stand".....not required and an eyesore........the rest is looking smart though!!!View attachment 90684
Always annoyed me too. Not only that but the whole facade was just too cluttered and busy with too many signs.

It’s beginning to look good now though and like you say, that old hoarding needs taking down.

Wish they’d do something with the view of the Kop from the road too. It looks terrible. Even tidying it up, cut the grass and give it a lick of paint. I know the hope is to extend it or whatever but at the moment it looks like a League 2 ground from that side, not a Premier League one.

I wonder if we are getting a new ‘back lit’ style name across the stadium? I think this would really make a huge difference. Something like Newton Heath’s.

The back of the Kop why don,t they re name it to Alan Woodward stand. does look poor now.
I noticed they’ve taken the sponsors off the kop, John st and lane end so who knows. Maybe it’s making way for a stadium sponsor!

There's room between the concrete posts to fit in the name Sheffield United in big letters. That's what Bert would do.

Get rid of the square block where it used to say Tony Currie stand. Paint over the small Sheffield United FC. Dont need any other signs at all.

Just one that says Sheffield United (dont need FC or Blades) and this sign should not be painted but seperate coming away from the stand (suspended) and as others have said something that can light up. It's all about the font though. Get that wrong and it's an eyesore. Fonts these days irritate me if done wrong! Oh and needs to be in the middle. Ideally stretching across 6 or 7 of the middle blocks (so a third of the stand) right near the top so it stands out.

We could then have a giant blades badge rotating round slowly at the top like The Old Bailey or a Batman style projection in the sky. Not sure even myself whether I am serious on the badge suggestions!

The Blades enterprise centre looks awful too. The giant Blade has been taken off but you can see where it was...needs repainting. The Kop looks shit too from the back (signage again and tatty). Oh and get some new red seats for the JSS.

...and buy a new striker.

Not a lot to ask. Sort it out Prince.

They should just use the branding they already have. The 'Sheffield United Football Club' that appears on our calendars and is on the walls in the press room and at Shirecliffe, looks very smart, and would look great as a suspended light up sign.

The one at the bottom that says Sheffield United already above the entrances should just say 'Welcome to Bramall Lane'.

It’s going to be a sign that says ‘Fuck off Alan’.

Anybody know why that’s been removed?

They were signs weren't they? Not painted on?

If they were signs, they're just taking everything that's been there a while off the ground to presumably be replaced with newer stuff.

They've taken the United badge and all the signage off the monstrosity corner for example, don't know if anything has gone up yet though.

They’ll probably be updating the blades to reflect the badge update from early 2010s and I reckon same for the shitewise corner 🤣

All the sponsors have been taken off the front of the various roof’s as well. Can only be one big sponsor coming in or we aren’t bothered with small time sponsors any more.

Noticed the away stand is getting a black paint job, and the office corner has had the ad boards removed. In addition the top of the family stand has been painted black.

The office block in that corner would look well black actually.

#BPM (Black Paint Matters)

It’s all happening!!

If they can repaint all the steps white instead of that atrocious yellow, then I’ll forgive a thousand other aesthetic sins.

I actually emailed the groundskeeper sometime last year about that and he said they were instructed upon a safety inspection to ‘highlight the step noses to avoid injury’ what a load of crap.

To be fair they’ve gone from all yellow a few years back to mostly white/grey with a little bit of yellow so it’s much better

As long as it doesn’t say ‘PRINCE’ or ‘P-Busses’ or ‘Drinks4U’ everywhere in the style of our near neighbour.

Or...... Maybe its now an official loophole we all can exploit.
Yeah.... let’s spend gazillions, trillions I tell you, no one will notice, it’s all legal, the EPL ratified it in a letter posted to Bettis’s mother, it’s on the mantle piece I tell ya!

Oh dear, I think I’ve been reading the ‘Wednesday/Porktalk’ thread a bit too much🧐

Suspect it's hard to get new sponsors in with no fans in and TV cameras rarely pick up advertising etc.
