Had a search but couldn't find a convo around this. I'm interested to see what people's thoughts are on who we start up front.

I'm expecting us to sign a striker but as things stand, Robinson has come back to us looking sharp in some of the videos, he's just won promotion with WBA, so my initial thinking is McBurnie and Robinson? McGoldrick in behind them linking up.

No sign of Mousset in some of the content put out by the club recently.

Also no sign of JOC Baldock Didzy Moore Verrips and a few others in footage but people only talking about mousset still.

On the topic though Id have McBurnie starting with a new lad upfront with Moose Dids and Billeh rotating in and out whenever needed. We still need to prioritise that creative spark and athleticism behind them IMO.

Agree - need back up for McGoldrick who as Wilder said is the best link up player we have. Good point on the other lads, I don't want to get into Mousset's personal life here!

Anyone noticed C. Robinson doesn't have a number on the training gear? Is this a sign that he'll be shipped out again? Which I think would be a real shame going on how well he did at WBA and looks really sharp in training.

Hes copped a fair bit of stick on this board but he looks to have come back fitter and stronger judging by the videos I've seen of him. If our target remains to be consolidation then we should not be arming WBA with his services. We should give him a run out and hope he's got a yard quicker, has more of an eye for goal etc.

I think Moose is on extended paternity and then may have to quarantine on his return.

Robinson does look sharp, but the footage is focusing on him a bit, it could just be astute advertising in the shop window. I half expect him to leave, certainly if it facilitates someone else coming in, e.g. player plus cash for, well...Cash.

I'd start McBurnie and one other, hopefully a signing. Dennis?? 😯 That is, if t'owd Oli's been on the old Nurishment milkshakes to bulk up a bit...

Moose is seen at the end of that GK training video on our YouTube so he must have been back for a bit now.

Doesn't even show on the club website and Foderingham has a placeholder there

I bet we're listening to offers from WBA

I have absolutely no facts to back this up but can't help but feel Moose is going to have a stormer this season 15 goals for us and repays the patience and faith CWAK have given him

Ummm don’t mean to cast any aspersions but the black lad who gives a nod to Rambo and RND at the end of the GK training video is not the Moose... didn’t recognise him so assume a youth player?

We will start with Didsy and McBurnie against Wolves fitness permitting.

Looked like moose at first glance but just had another look and your right it's not him

Just noticed Ramsdale has Robinson's training top when he signed. Strange. But then reverts to number 1 in later pics. Maybe it's in the wash now to return to Robinson ;)

We need another striker (2 in all honesty) - period - if we don't get one - it is a tragedy.

Mcburnie is the best of what we have - none of the others are enough of a threat if we want to kick on.

Mousse - if he isn't for by xmas and able to carry out a full 90 minutes then he should be nowhere near a football pitch or professional football. All the ability in the world and pace but as the saying goes 'hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard' and this boy certainly isn't working hard enough.

Sharp - legend and great option off the bench if we need a goal or to fill in for injuries.

Didzy - IMO our best player but not an out and out goal scorer.

So we are injury and a suspension away from 0 options in the striking department.

I think it’s getting a bit late to get someone in and start em so I’m going Didzy and McBurnie up front for first few games

I'm personally very excited about our striking options, before we make any additions.

I expect McGoldrick to feature heavily. Regardless of age, he's still an excellent player and he's vital in the current system. I'd back him to have another good season, and better his tally - somewhere closer to his xG of 9 would be a good target.

An unfit and at times, distracted Lys Mousset was our most productive player in terms of goal involvements, with 6 goals and 4 assists. If we can improve on the 1200 or so minutes we managed to keep him on the pitch, and aim for double that, I'd hope he could manage double the output.

Ollie McBurnie said himself that he struggled with the initial fitness demands from Wilder and the staff. As the season progressed though, he looked to gain confidence and improved both physically and technically. He scored 6, with an xG of 8: However, I think McBurnie is capable of far better in terms of output.
He's proven himself to be one of the best aerial threats in the league in terms of winning duels. If we could make the most of that and get more crosses, of better quality to him, it would not be a surprise to see him get 10-15 goals.

I think Sharp will still play a part, albeit a small one and I think there's still room for 1 more player. However, I think if we can keep McGoldrick, Mousset and McBurnie fit, I'd be excited to see the results.

Yeah it was someone at the end but I've just rewatched it and it's not him. Youth player apparently
Can confirm that Moose is in Sheffield, just seen him jogging down Dore Road with another lad.

Looked in good fettle, he'll be fine next season...
