They owe us the final installment for Brooks - something around £4m plus whatever add-ons he's triggered this season.

It won't reduce the fee by much, it'll just be a cashflow thing for Bournemouth which we will have leveraged to our advantage.
Couldn't we just send the bailiffs round to repossess BROOKS?

Why are people moaning at this? Ramsdale is probably the 2nd best young English keeper about. We couldn’t afford Henderson - this is an absolute no-brainer.

Less than £20 mill for a 22 year old, possible future England number 1. Sounds a decent bit of business to me.

A better question is why are people obsessed with his Englishness? What's that got to do with anything?

I was in the Cakir camp I must confess. And who knows maybe Cakir could end up being one of the best.
But I’m also very happy with Ramsdale. Ticks so many boxes. Wilder seems very keen on the lad and it’s easy to see why. Hopefully with further development Ramsdale will end up being one of the greats for us and go on to represent his country.
I’m very happy that we’re spending the money to gain our own keeper. The figures stated also suggest we’ve got a bit more cash than some feared.
Ramsdale is a good start. Swift, Cash, Robinson and Dennis to come?

have you ever worked in a foreign country? have you ever been in a workplace where everyone speaks a language thoroughly unfamiliar to you? have you ever had to adapt to a new culture and climate? have you ever been separated from all that is familiar to you; family and friends included? based on your comment i’d wager the answer to all of the above is likely ‘no’.

Another positive regards the Ramsdale signing is....
we’ve done our business early...none of this waiting until the week before the new season starts bollocks.
Goalie is a massively important position. We know he’s decent and he’ll have plenty of time to work with his new defence.

Yes: Austria, Spain, Quebec in Canada and briefly in Russia. Guess again. There are many keepers around the world who speak English so the comparison is a false equivalence really.

I don't have the Turkish league detailed OPTA data unfortunately! But Ramsdale seems a pretty average keeper, at least statistically. Cakir seems interesting, but more risk (e.g. new to the league and country). If we go for Ramsdale (which now looks likely) Cakir has also been linked with Chelsea, Brighton, Leeds I think and will probably be the Turkish national team #1 in the future.
Ok. Greg. "Probably in the Turkish national team #1 in the future.' I'll leave you to follow his progress then via Turkish League OPTA stats. I will have the odd look as to his whereabouts based on clubs that are courting him😎

oh! you speak german, spanish and russian? wow, как здорово, я бы никогда не догадался по такому глупому комментарию! игроки из англии получают более высокие гонорары, поскольку им не нужно адаптироваться, как это делают иностранные игроки, but i guess you already knew that.

I think one thing that pleases me about this is how vocal he is. Just from watching highlights, you can see he's a confident lad who isn't afraid to bark orders at an experienced defence.

Interesting the way that we're spending cash too (even if this figure is going to be made up of all manner of clauses and increments.)
I watched a few YouTube videos of him yesterday and a couple of things really came across were his strong character ( he fronted up for an interview after relegation and spoke really well ,no excuses no bullshit and seemed very genuine
Secondly he is very vocal ,which means he is very confident and he will have to be with our back 5 and dressing room and characters
Thirdly he comes off his line really well ,which I always thought was a weakness of hendos often seemingly unaware of his positioning at times

Wilder obviously sees something in him ,let's hope hect season we are all talking about how surprised we are at his performances

It’s not irrelevant if it’s not value is it? You wouldn’t pay a tenner for a packet of cheese and onion crisps would you?
Depends how hungry you were or how rich you were or how much you liked cheese and onion crisps

Brexit Blades.

You wouldn't think it would be tolerated on here either with it being a haven for lefties 😉

You've changed the goalpost now. I speak French and Spanish and have enough Russian and German to get on and live in those countries. The Russian you've just typed in your is entirely different to having enough to hold a conversation, or, in this case, bark out a few commands from your goal. Novak Djokovic speaks half a dozen languages fluently and doesn't require any of them for his sport. English is taught to foreign nationals - including potential goalkeepers - so it's not at all unbelievable to imagine United having a foreign 'keeper.

Interesting.

This fella's coverage is always odd. Surely if any owed money for Brooks was still standing that wouldve been covered in our dealings for Mousset. Journos on the Bmuff end also saying that the clauses are included in the 18.5m. Yet again transfer coverage in this day and age is a fucking minefield and only makes things more confusing. ⚔

Interesting.

Its a strange valuation, he has had Man City bound Ake in front of him , yet still conceded 65 and only 5 clean sheets. Hendo's numbers owe much to our magnificent 5 defenders, so an experienced £5m goalie, would surely have much the same effect, and leave Ramsdales sell on and the saving to spend on our weakest point, the strikeforce.
