Now before you all start, let me just make a few things clear:

a) Despite how much money it's costing me, I like the Blades being in the Premiership.

and

b) I'm in no way advocating that Sheffield W*dnesday should be promoted purely to serve our entertainment.

BUT...

Aren't you missing a good bit of proper rivalry this season? There aren't any Sheffield or even proper Yorkshire (Middlesbrough can sod off) derbies! The best we can hope for is the luck of the cup draw but even then, could you really get excited about the cup?

We haven't had enough recent encounters with the northern Premiership clubs to create any atmosphere for proper banter... plus they're all too busy taking the piss out of Leeds to even bother about us. And with the Southerners... Watford and Reading fans don't make a peep (unless they get stuff thrown at them, they don't like that) and if the Arsenal fans are anything to go by, the rest of them are bloody comatose all the way through the match.

I'm not talking about violence... just some healthy "pig", "scum" or "scab" equivalent.

What (or who) do you reckon?

Dont really miss the derbys to be hounest rather been here in the prem rather than see us play them lot and scummy l**ds.

Although the boro game felt like a derby especially when it all kicked off after the match. lol

I agree with ya linz, cant beat a bit of local rivalry. Though i still manage to get digs in at my wendy friends:D

i dont wanan go down and love derbies so the only way to get them is for the pigs and the scum to come up if thats what it takes im willing to listen beacuase now we will always be yorkshires number 1

IMO both sets of supporters are too obsessed with each other as it is, although saying that I would some day like to see both United and Wednesday in the prem having derbys were they belong.

Lets be honest, both United and perticually Wednesday are very very big clubs. How teams like Fulham, Charlton etc have got ahead of us is a joke.

Lets hope the likes of charlton watford and fulham get relegated this season. Im sick of seeing fulham in the prem with there shite ground and crap support they make crewe look big. Although having said that wouldnt want to replace them with the likes of l**ds or wednesday.

I miss them yeah. Still id rather us been in the Premiership playing the big clubs.

In an ideal world it would be great if we were like a top team in Europe and Wednesdays were lower table club e.g Fulham.

Don't miss playing those dirty scummers.

But would like it if we were both in Prem and as said above, we were top 4 and they were bottom 4 :)

At the moment, in our Premiership infancy, I get that spine-tingling buzz of a derby ahead of every single game, but in time, I'll start to miss them I reckon.

I have to admit I'm missing having local derbies already, it's great being in the Premiership and the fact we're the only team from Yorkshire flying the flag, but it would be nice to have either Pigs or L**ds scum back up (as long as they're not doing well and we are) because being in the Premiership would also add more spice to the already mouth-watering derby.

It is often mentioned that the Sheffield derby is one of the biggest in Britain after the Merseyside derby and the Old Firm matches between Rangers and Celtic.

i agree, i too get that spine tingling before a prem game, but yea of course I miss the derby's. In a way I wish Leeds had been promoted for the banter and rivalry. My flatmates from Leeds-wouldv'e loved that

How about Fulham and Leeds together?

I now hate the derby games. I don’t mind the build up, but the last few games have been boring. I’d much rather see them suffer below us, like they currently are.

Not missing them at all. Even though we win more than we lose against them, the tension and fear of losing are too much. It’s far better being in a higher division and laughing at their pain. Long may it continue.

Nope! Only thing we were missing was a humiliating defeat for the pigs and we got that with Bouncing Day. I'm happy with that memory and as fun as it is to look back on, I still felt physically sick when Jao equalised in that match. The three derbies since that one have been appalling. The only time derbies are enjoyable is when we beat them as underdogs and I've no desire to ever return to being underdogs in a Sheffield derby. Leeds will do as a local derby for now.

No

Nope, fucking hate them. Might enjoy them a bit more if they were relegated and we drew them in a cup match.

Hope we never see those filthy, in-bred bastards at Bramall Lane, ever again!

Wendy as a club are a stain on our city, its supporters the thickest set of mongs that you are ever likely to encounter.

I wouldn't miss Wendy if the club ceased to exist altogether. Chancer is doing a fantastic job down there at the moment. Long may he reign!

The best for everyone is if we establish ourselves in the Prem for a very long time and they slosh about in the mid table backwaters of League One.

However, I do hope we get them in the FA Cup 3rd round.

That’s fine but leeds isn’t a derby, no more so than Manchester City, Forest, Derby, etc.
