Definitely. Had it been prior to lockdown I think Fleck may have won it, but for the season as whole, and in particular in the lockdown period, Bash the best player most weeks and fully deserved that he's the player of the season.

I remember one of his early games v Rochdale in League One and he just looked awful, and I remember shouting from the Kop "GET HIM OFF"! He was substituted not long after too! How he's proved me wrong from that day, one of the best signings we ever had in my time as a Blade

Love the man, club legend and this is thoroughly deserved. He personifies the club's journey. He epitomises it all - the lesser known, unfancied mould, but whose endeavour, quality and commitment has shone through, taking most neutrals by surprise - but not a single Blade.

This for me too. No player has ever won me over as much as Basham. I used to moan about him all the time in League One. The first thing I used to do on a new FIFA/FM save was sell him!

What a turnaround. A fantastic top tier Premier League player and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. Chuffed to bits for him!

I’d have voted Fleck, although he hasn’t been at his best since lockdown eased, and injured as well of course.

But I’m delighted for Basham. He’s had a fantastic season and has given 100% every second of every game.

I honestly don’t knows how he does it because he appears to me to be an unnatural footballer, ungainly, awkward, prone to some odd moments, but he’s played out of his skin and beyond his ability. Totally deserved!
