And who must we get rid of?

IMO Fleck, Egan, JOC, McB, Hendo, Baldock are more or less indispensable. They should be hung on to at all costs. That's not to say others aren't very good players but I feel these are players we'd miss the most. Osborn has also really impressed me and I can see him kicking on next season. If we are to go up a level in quality then also Berge is a player of the calibre we should be looking to build a team around.

Moore, Moose, Robinson (Callum) and Lunny can go. Lunny more because his contract dramas have pissed me off.

How can we hold onto someone we don't own?

I would agree with all of that apart from Moose.

Keeping the back 5 together is a must because we don't want to break up the defensive unit. Stevens needs to get his form back on track though.

If we can hustle Hendo on loan for a 3rd season that would be great but we do need to think about his replacement though.

Back 5 and Norwood (Ollie is very important to us and never hides from responsibility or the ball)

I think CWAK will get rid of who they want to, and keep as many as they can of those they want to stay. A big enough bid for any player will mean they leave. It all hangs on who CWAK want to bring in, if that means selling one on the keep list to fund it, it will happen.

The one indispensable player I wouldn't want to see us lose is O'Connell. Decent left sided centre halves are hard to come by and especially ones with such ability on the ball.

After that, and possibly Fleck, I don't think anyone else isn't replaceable. That's not to say I don't love Egan, Norwood, Stevens, Baldock and Basham (easily my favourite player), I just think if clubs came to us with big money offers way over what we value them at then Wilder would look at it and see if he could get a comparable player or someone he can develop for less, either from the Championship or maybe around Europe.

Unless you are Barcelona or Real Madrid these days everyone has their price, I love what this team has done but with the current circumstances meaning budgets are likely to be limited and United needing at least 3 or 4 new players if we really want to keep moving forward as Wilder says, if a big offer comes along the bigger picture of taking one step back to take two forward has to be looked at.

Based on this season the management and JOC. Then the likes of Basham, Egan, Baldock, Henderson, Fleck. There is an argument that Basham should be further down the list due to age.

How do you know lunny is having “ contract dramas” maybe we’re offering less than he’s worth ?

Also what’s the point in seelling moose when if he gets back fit gets over his personal issues he’s a 30/40 million pound player there. And the best striker at the club by a mileee

There’s zerooo logic to selling him this summer if he carries on sell him in January

To sell him now would be a big mistake IMO

McBurnie should absolutely be on the ‘we must keep’ list.

Don’t know why so many are so willing for us to lose him.

Talk to the anti-McBurnie folk long enough and it tends to boil down to “why does he have to dress like a jeb-end?” and “why doesn’t he talk proper?”

So his personality is not for them, and fair doos on that (nobody is everyone’s cup of tea), but for me he’s done a cracking job on desperately limited service this season & as long as his bucket-hatted, Scarface-watching antics don’t cause anyone any harm then I will continue to roar him on to get double figures next season.

I think we should keep moose ( unless he agitates for a move )but we need to bring two new strikers in regardless id personally go for grant and Dennis ( karlan and Emanuele) think their attributes would compliment mcburnie and mcgoldrick and give us options

He looks lazy and like he needs a good wash.

That apart, he's been excellent. A young player with minimal PL experience, often labouring away alone (when Didzy drops back deeper).

His body language often looks a bit 'can't be arsed' but his stats tell the real story. Look at tackles won, headers won and his defensive contributions.
Of course he's not the finished article, but he is young, knows where goal is and works his tits off.

Some of the stick he has had is beyond garbage, like the infamous 'McShitty' thread etc. The lad gives his all and has scored some cracking goals. Fortunately CW/AK know a little bit more about football, than some of the superfans on here.

I don't think he's as good, but I wouldn't be too upset to see Ramsdale coming in on a permanent instead of Hendo. He's not as good but we would own him... swings and roundabouts.

Does anyone else think Ollie is maybe the weak link? I hate saying this but twice Premier League managers deemed him not good enough. He has put in some good performances and his work ethic is excellent as is his attitude, but since the restart he frequently squandered possession by either mis hitting a pass or being caught in possession. If I was to pick a weak area it would be his position (Ollie if you're reading this, I would be delighted for you to prove me wrong).

I get where you're coming from, but there is no one else in our squad who can perform the same role at this moment in time (Sander hopefully will do in the future but he's not there yet). Norwood is very important to us defensively as well - he's often the one staying furthest back and helping out Egan when JOC and/or Bash have gone forward. He's been poor by his standards after the restart, but so have others. The difference is that Ollie doesn't go hiding and still tries to make the forward pass as oppose to the easy option. Many would do well to remember where we were before Norwood came in - Lee Evans/old Lunny/Ryan Leonard and going nowhere fast. It's an important position in our system and you only need to look how we faded after the Coutts injury in our first season back in the Champ for proof of this.
If we can sign an improvement then fair enough but I can't see where we'd get one without spending an extortionate amount.
