Love how he's added the Lallana signing like it's a good thing.

McBurnie wins by getting his team to finish 9th. It's as simple as that. Better luck next season

No guarantee that he will play many games as he is injury prone.

Update

Maupay bagged an assist today. He was quite clearly the better signing. A few egg on faces in this thread.

McBurnie 36 appearances 6 goals 1 assists 4 yellows no reds
Maupay 37 appearances 10 goals 3 assists 3 yellows no reds

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other news we are signing Adam Lallana.

Great result at Burnley today. Check out our goals.

Take care all xxx

Imagine you have had a good win and finished the season well as a Brighton fan. I know, let's jump on the team of an opposition forum, a team that is not even a rival and discuss this mysterious unofficial race between two signings that noone actually gives a damn about than you. I can imagine you excitedly finding images of champagne.

You know what. I don't think there is a lot in the two of them as players. Both are decent but not sure either will go on to be brilliant at this level.

We finished 9th. Above you. All that matters

As for Adam Lallana - thats exactly the sort of signing I would want us to stay away from - huge wages, injury prone on the downward of his career. He may do ok but not the sort of player I'd be spunking budget on personally.

I've seen this sad act trolling Bournemouth and Norwich. He must troll all the boards. I suppose you have to admire his dedication. As for Maupay: you payed more than double the Moose fee for an inferior player. Mcburnie wasn't remotely fit until Christmas and has almost equalled the goal tally of a player that cost 5 million more at Brighton - on double the wages. I, for one, am gutted. Oh, and Lallana's a good signing...five years ago.

This guy has always been a wind up merchant. I’m sure he’s grinning like a Cheshire at how funny he is winding us all up right now.
Truth is though that Brighton are... well fucking Brighton!
Shit club, no history whatsoever, shit fan base, shit boring manager... thank god I don’t support them... well I’d probably just support the Arse anyway tbf!

Clearly a troll, not interested in engaging in any sort of debate - congratulations to him, he’s one of 3 people ever who I’ve put on ignore.

Living on the south coast not too far from Brighton, I have an affinity with your fan base SteveM ( still worried about the capital M - for Mummy's boy maybe?) anyway, I digress. You're a nice enough bunch of lads who know FUCK ALL about football, enjoy your perennial struggle for survival next season mate.

It's a pity that daft twat doesn't understand football seeing as I've grown to like Brighton fans with their shared dislike of Massive and Dirty.

However, let's do some alternative stats from simply "goals" and "assists" which are the sort of things 10 year olds might value

From www.premierleague.com/stats/player-comparison

Minutes played: McBurnie 2116 Maupay 2768 (over 30% more playing time)
Goals: McBurnie 6 Maupay 10
Shots: McBurnie 50 Maupay 96
Shooting accuracy: McBurnie 58% Maupay 58%
Shooting success: McBurnie 12.0% Maupay 10.4%
Assists: McBurnie 0 Maupay 3
Big Chances Created: McBurnie 2 Maupay 3
Dispossessed: McBurnie 34 Maupay 56
Interceptions: McBurnie 15 Maupay 4
Tackles McBurnie 37 Maupay 20
Clearances: McBurnie 41 Maupay 8
Headed Clearances: McBurnie 36 Maupay 3
Aerial Battles Won: McBurnie 200 Maupay 26

I think those stats show why our team conceded far fewer goals and as a result got 13 more points

I feel this is a forlorn post. This guy clearly just wants to wind folk up. Anyone with an ounce of footballing knowledge would see that we have far out reached Brighton this season.

I have no interest in attempting to change the mind of a dickhead, Coatesy

But it did me a favour looking it up. It made me realise the full contribution that McBurnie has made to this season's success

Whooopi Doooooooooooooo. Now I don’t believe in god, but if I did, and I was a Brighton fan, I’d pray on the hour, every hour, because your shower of shyte were certainties to go down before COVID-19. You are undoubtedly the champions of COVID-19, and we undoubtedly are the losers of COVID-19. Having said that, you are 13 points behind us, despite having 17 players out on loan, a 3 year head start on us in this league, plus an outlay of £350m before this season! You must be so proud? But then again my main memory of your nonentity of a club is regular crowds of 2,000 a week for a decade? Now run along to your own place and talk to someone who gives a f#ck about your great achievements this season.

Who's better - McBurnie or Maupay? There's only one way to find out... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFfffffffff... footgolf?

Not a lot happens up here, clearly. From the York Press:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PREMIER League striker and Scotland international Oli McBurnie enjoyed a game of footgolf in a York village this week.

The Sheffield United star visited York FootGolf, on the A19 at Skelton, with friends on Thursday.

Owner Kieran Lawry said Oli was "extremely down to earth" and a "really nice guy" as he chatted with staff about the previous season and his excitement at getting back to pre-season training. “We regularly get a number of current and ex-pro footballers come to play here as we are regarded as one of the best FootGolf venues in the country but getting a current premier league star and Scottish International was a nice surprise," Kieran added.

"Oli enjoyed it that much he had to play a second round to try and beat his score!”

2 goals today and an assist and what a result.

Really buzzing

Literally saw he’d scored twice on the bbc website and my first thought was that you’d be on here to let us know.

As a semi professional internet troll myself, I genuinely wanted to congratulate you on your work. You’ve got quite a few people on here on strings.
