McBurnie did nothing in the first half, Billy has blown his two chances. We've got nothing to play for so he might as well have a go at something. Soton's centre backs have no pace so Zivkovicat and Clarke could be a bigger threat running at them. The only problem is that we favour crosses into the box over through balls to the strikers, so we could take both of them out of the game with our own tactics.
 
Amazing season, unbelievable from the team and manager. but there is an individual gulf of quality on the ball where we are still lacking. To progress, a lot of these players will need phasing out, mainly infront of out defence, in attack and midfield. Its back to the drawing board and a rebuild.

edit: ziko’s pace is an absolute myth and i dont see any quality .

Yup, they’ve not fired us to 9th in PL and with less money to spend next year we should sign 5 new strikers
 
A great, great season. We mustn't forget. A brilliant, committed effort with some wonderful football and excitement. Well done CWAK and all the lads.

A shame we died on our arses, there. But it has helped emphasize exactly what we need for next season. Zivkovic has all the attacking intent and aggression of fucking Bambi. A useless waste of a shirt. One of the laziest 40 mins I've ever seen from anyone in a Blades shirt. McBurnie has got to improve his first touch and Billy cannot be a starter.

No doubt where we need the investment next season. Let's hope we can find a striker within our budget because if we can't, and we start the season how we have finished it, it could be a long, hard slog.

We’ve lost to an in-form Southampton side in what is a meaningless preseason like game...yet people are losing their heads! We’ve had a great season, players have been rested, no overhaul needed. We will be back in September, UTB.
 
Had Billy scored, as he certainly should, Southampton would have struggled to come back. Unfortunately, they score immediately after and what follows is disappointing with too many misplaced passes. Been a great season, but our squad is thin and more quality up front will be required if we are to flourish next season.

Agree totally with first and last paragraphs however, how can you make a judgement of Zivkovic Louke that. We didn’t play him one pass that was realistic. Nothing through the channels for him to run on to. No one overlapping him. No one holding it up for him to run on to. The lad had 2 x chances of showing a successful game. Dogs chance and no fucking chance! We are not playing the football we were so successful with. That is either because the opposition are not allowing us or we simply do not have players capable of doing so in an uptempo league. The latter methinks.
 
Sharp - too hesitant in front of goal.

McBurnie - doesn't get into decent enough positions to be have an attempt on goal.

Didsy - the catalyst in everything good we do but completely unreliable in front of goal.

Zivkovicat - Who?

Mousset - skill and finishing wise our best striker, not fit enough after a whole season, doesn't work hard enough off the ball and is often taken out of the game by the Blades by passing behind him where he has to drop back, instead of playing in front of him to chase with his pace.

Robinson - a failed experiment. A winger playing in a team that doesn't use wingers and not good enough to play up top in the Premier League as he drifts wide too much.

Clarke - was always going to be bottom of the pile and Wilder had a dig in September that he was still here when he should be out playing regular football.

Yep, we need new strikers alright but there'll only be limited money in the pot and a top striker won't come cheap and will eat up a large chunk of the budget.

We've had an amazing season overall, surpassing everyone's expectations and I'm not having a pop at players. But being honest in overall reflection of the season, we've done even more amazing given how toothless we've been up top.

Wilder was not having a dig at Clarke in that interview, he's made the point several times that Leon isn't one of the players he is annoyed with.

We play a defensive system which makes us look good defensively but create little for those up top. That needs factoring in.

Fair play, I thought Leon was amongst them, I must have missed that part. I believe the second part of your post refers to what many call "Mark Duffy."

With the right quality of crosses McB will score and maybe Mousset will be back to his early season form.
YES we need two more to compliment them.
