Memries of Brighton

I was at that infamous game in '85 too. I wasn't on the pitch - in that corner that some of you have mentioned. Never been in/around BBC, but back then it was hard not to get involved when traipsing from pub to pub around the back streets . Trouble was accepted/expected as part of the deal going away week in week out back then.

Can somebody tell me which are the blades boys?

Just realised this thread is 4yrs old. Edited my confused post.

COYB.

Am local to Brighton and going on Sunday.

The 5-4 is one of my favourite games of all time.

Another game of note was the 0-0 draw in the FA Cup at a snowy Bramall Lane in 1987. United's young right back, Chris Wilder, made his first team debut.

Despite not winning, this was a big improvement on our shocking performance in the 1-0 league defeat at home to Brighton at the beginning of December, a game in which Dean Saunders scored the winner after a terrible backpass.

Tangentially, we won the replay 2-1. This was the first time United had won an FA Cup replay away from home since 1930. However, it started a run where we were unbeaten in 15 straight replays home and away, until we lost on pens to Arsenal in 2005.

Finally, Revolution Sr will complete his set of PL grounds on Saturday, and I'm sure he won't be the only one.
It was one of only two home games Dad and I missed that season. We went to Scarborough to watch YCCC play instead & no I can't remember any details of the cricket. In those days the Marine Road PA announced Yorkshire based scores h/t & f/t, so we escaped the drama but thought we'd misheard the f/t result!!

British Bulldog 1-2-3...

Remember John Cutbush's goal from a very tight angle in April 1978. Ball was going out of play at the Kop End, he dived feet first to keep the ball in play. His cross cum shot stunned Brighton's keeper Eric Steele who dived too late to stop Cutbush's effort

I remember them being the first football club to release a Hip-Hip record.

It was called the “Goldstone Rap”.

It’s painfully shit.

My memories. Goldstone ground twice .
F.a cup replay we win then faced west ham away next round on a Monday night.
Then the last game of the season where I went for the weekend .
I was on the terrace, naughty boy blades in the seats opposite.
Remember everton being in Brighton that weekend on the way to rotterdam for European final.
Trouble allover.
Remember the Sunday morning we were waiting for the national express coach home. Sat on deckchairs on the seafront )))) we got charged for them so took them on the coach and ended up in pond street 3 deckchairs .
Seen the blades at all 3 Brighton grounds.
Decent fans .

When we beat them 0-1 away in December 2019 I was on top of the world.

The Blades were tearing up the Premier League and I'd just met the love of my life.

Oh to go back.
