Missing out on European football is such a huge dissapointment. Based on the whole season, we clearly deserved it so fucking much. Corona just blew our momentum and we had some absolute horrible games after the re-start. Right now, i'm very frustrated but I already got like 5 messages from (Dutch) fans that didn't even know us until last season, saying that we really had an great season and that they respect us a lot.

In a few days, we can watch the re-cap of the whole season and all those beautiful moments. Hopefully, we can organise some kind of an "celebration" when we are allowed back into the stadium, to thank the players for this incredible season. Let's do it again next season!

Best team and highest finish since I started going to games as a kid. For that alone I'm not allowing myself to be disappointed by finishing short of Europe.

But for tonight's performance I'm extremely let down. Losing games is fine, it happens, but on a game where we desperately needed a win it felt like we never even threatened.

But yeah, that break a few of our players didn't come back. Stevens especially was one of the best players in the league in his position before Lockdown, but he's struggled to get up to top gear since, he's been in 4th a couple of times but mainly hanging around in 2nd.

Fleck looks a shadow of his pre lockdown self after the injury, and Lundstram doesn't look arsed at all.

Berge came back better and Bash and Baldock were as good as ever, but overall it really knocked the stuffing out of us.

Looking forward to seeing what Wilder does in summer though, and the season ahead.

Depending on your expectations I think 4 is harsh. The above over a season gives us enough points to be about 12th which would still be brilliant. We played 5 of the top 10 in those 9 games too

Yep, it’s been an eye watering roller coaster ride with CWAK taking us places we started to feel we would never see again. But enough is enough, time to drop the Alf Tupper Tough of the Track characterisation it’s time to kick on.

It’s not long ago Manchester City were the runts of Manchester and look at them now. Do we want to become a world force in football or be the embarrassing relative at the top table?

Under HRH I’m hoping he has bigger plans than just hanging on to the shirt tails of the PL and thinking success is not being relegated. It’s time for out with the old and in with the new. Some players are past their best and risk being a payday player and others are just not up there with the best and to be blunt never will be.

I'm hoping its a clean piece of paper after the Southampton game and only a few ‘permanent’ names will be on it. Build the new United around Berge Egan, JOC, Baldock, Hendo (for now) and use players like Norwood, Stevens, Basham (age), McBernie, Diddsy et al as the bench players. Billy to a role within the club or loan out to a good Championship team.

Is Wilder the man to do it? For me yes for now. He needs to develop into a manager who has good contacts throughout Europe and South America (Van Winkle seems to be that man) and not a specialist at buying bargains and getting 100% out of them.

Is the Prince the man to do it? Again yes for me if he can bring in the investment and drive the club to a force to be admired and reckoned with. That depends on if he can bring in the investment and be very very ambitious. He’s proved he’s ruthless by taking McCabe’s trousers down in public and giving him a spanking for keeping the club as his play thing and status symbol and not pushing on to the next levels.

The last 3 years are now very nice history but we can’t survive as we are and buying players like Swift might prove to be a bargain but might indicate its business as usual. If it’s the latter be prepared for relegation, I’m hoping it’s the former and a season and seasons no worse than this are there to be had if we are brave enough to drop the ‘put in a shift’ or lose team.

Not long to wait and see which way it goes. COYRAWW be brave.

It has been a really good season. Most pundits had us down to finish bottom nevermind bottom 3. The way in which players who joined us in L1 have competed well at this level has been incredible. At our best, our style (overlapping defenders and closing down opponents) has been great to see.

I do think it’s an 8/10 rather than 9.9 though. We do lack a goal threat and at times seem to be hoping to nick a game rather than actively trying to win it. We also lack pace and players who can go past an opponent.

It looks like we will finish 9th or 10th which I think is about right given how we have played over the whole season.

So, a really good first season but we do need to strengthen a fair bit for next season.

9.8/10 Pre-lockdown
Bloody brilliant. The only bad thing I can really remember getting really wound up about was the McGoldrick phantom goal at Spurs away niggles in my head. That the so called Lundstrum toe offside decision happened in another phase of play and one of Spurs players touched the ball since the "offside". Yet I've seen other Premier League matches where a similar thing has happened, but they didn't go all the way back to the offside to rule out the goal. A Man U match post lockdown (Can't remember which one) there was a prime example. Other than that a near perfect season.

5/10 Post-lockdown
This rating is mostly based on the results and the effort put in by the players. We had 3 big results and performances. The rest, well, you know: Villa ghost goal, fatigue or the team was replaced by android lookalikes, because we have been very poor by Wilder's standards. Not to say we are a poor team, probably average, which will probably be reflected by the final league table. But against Everton yesterday, we didn't have a shot on goal at home. That's the first time that's happened since Wilder's 2nd home game in August 2016, we were really poor then, sitting 3rd from bottom of League One. The Wilder revolution came after the next match at Millwall. So there are parallels to what has happened in the past and Wilder needs to find a way to crank these lads up for their final game and go out on a high this season. I hope we aren't going to see the players with their minds on their holidays. Otherwise I might reconsider my rating for post lockdown to a 4.

Overall the good outweighs the bad (of course it does! We are Premier League!) and there are times this season where I have felt exceptional pride in following Sheffield United when our team is mentioned positively by the people who I used to watch and pretty much idolise as a kid. When probably 8 years ago I was asking myself "Why do I follow the Blades!?" There was not much reach out from the club to the fans and it was at times toxic. But what comes around goes around. I'm just hoping we stick it out this time for a good few years and build upon success.
