Seen some on Twitter today who reckon the players should be fined for that performance.

We. Were. Beaten. By. A. Better. Team. Who. Played. Better. Than. We. Did. That’s what happens in Football - if you don’t like it, watch a different sport and see if it’s any different.

If we win our two games (which are very very winnable) and Spurs don’t beat Leicester, we are in Europe. If that happens and Wolves lose to Chelsea, we finish 6th.

Anyone who thinks last night was “unacceptable” would do well to let all that sink in for a while and ponder whether you deserve what the team’s offered this year.*

That performance was unacceptable if we were in say Villas position. The performance we displayed wasn't the typical United and if I'm being truly honest, as a fan, I'm over it. Wilder will be looking in to it, I'm assuming arses will be kicked etc.

Even objectively United have to be contenders for team of the season and the players need to not let last nights game push that out of their heads.

In what everyone will agree has been an horrendous year, people losing loved one's to a ghastly horrible disease, people losing their jobs, what the blades have achieved has been outstanding, like last night i think we can count on one hand the number of games we have been outplayed and outfought, plus for what it is worth I did think we looked a little bit jaded last night.
The Club, management, Staff,Players and CWAK should take a bow for what they have done, they have given us hope and belief in these horrible times.

So to Sheffield United FC, Players Chris, Knilly, staff and everyone at the club

A BLOODY BIG THANKYOU

"You fill up my senses..."

Got to agree it is still all to play for we need to win both remaining games. Spurs and Wolves have some tough games coming up it only needs them to not win once and we can go above both.

I mean, we certainly shouldn't allow the dommongers who say the season is over to dominate the airwaves, but last night's performance was pretty wretched, and it shouldn't take Wilder to tell you that. IF we want to be a club playing European football and at the top end of the Premier League for years to come, you can't go away to rivals like that and lose every 50/50 and pass as poor as we did. It was so uncharacteristically loose last night.

Is it as cut and dry as that? I've not actually worked it out myself.

I want to see a performance with heart on Monday, whatever the result!! And would love to have something to play for on the last day.....whatever happens, couldn't be more proud!!⚔💪

Something to tell the grandkids, when we're watching "when Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday come" at the cinema! 😆

Said last night in another thread that I was happy to see Wilder tear into them so I don't have to. The players and managerial team have given me more than I could've asked for this season and I'm not going to allow myself to feel disappointed whatever happens.

Right now it's my job to celebrate how far my club has come, and it's Wilder's job to do whatever he can to push them that bit further. That's the way it should be.

Wolves and Spurs also play Palace, who surely can't lose 8 games on the spin...

If we win the last 2 I'm certain of 7th minimum

Absolutely agree that we’ve been excellent this year and it is still somehow all to play for!

I also agree that we were beaten by a better side last night

But I don’t think it’s unfair for us to call the performance unacceptable - Wilder did.
The performance was unacceptable because we lost the battle. That is not something we can accept.
Get beaten by skill and superior ability, fine. Get beaten because we’ve forgotten how to play and we hand the game to the opposition, not fine.

The thing about past performance in this case, means that the team as a whole did not perform as well as we, and they, know they can.
That is why the performance was unacceptable, and why Wider was right to call it out in public.

Unacceptable is a strong word and any reaction has to be tempered when we win or lose. It was a big game and needed a big performance. We didn’t reach our levels

Leicester are still a very good team and I still think that they have been 3/4th best over the season, despite Chelsea and Man U having big surges (and the latter lots of VAR luck), but outside the top two, Leicester, Wolves and ourselves have been excellent.

I think we’ve had very little luck and some bizarre things go against us, it hasn’t evened itself out over the season and if it had we’d have been on the verge of top 4.

I do think that the performance last night was as bad as any we’ve seen this season and that’s probably the biggest frustration. Not one player stood up when they needed to. Against a good, strong side, yes. But Wolves, Chelsea, Spurs and Burnley weren’t really weaker than Leicester

We had an excellent chance yesterday to really show what we are about and i think that’s the disappointment

Many talk about pride that we’ve done so well, we should be happy with where we are as we just came up and Anything better than bottom 3 was a bonus. True. When we reach the final whistle of the last game that’s the relief. But just like in the first season of the championship, we perhaps could’ve ended better. This season might also have the same feeling

So as bad as last night was, as much as wilder bemoaned the attitude and performance, we do indeed have two games to make Europe.

Make them count Blades!

We looked a different team yesterday, a tired group.
No surprise as an unchanged side for the last few games has worn on them.
You just have to look at the quality of the opposition .
A string of tough games over a short period had to have an impact.
Man U Arsenal Spurs Burnley Wolves Chelsea Leicester.

Yeah, Wolves 2 above, Spurs 1 above, we get 6 points and either of those drop points, we make up ground.

If Spurs draw to Leicester we're above them.

If Wolves lose to Chelsea, we're above them too.

We just need to win our games, not easy mind, and hope Man City batter Arsenal in the cup.

I hope Chris Wilder is now pondering whether he deserves what the team's offered this year.

I'm fed up with people telling us that we can't complain if we play really badly and not really bother to turn up.

Fucking hell, and i was looking forward to a hood panic when I got home too!!

Im just looking forward to the Everton game - safe in the knowledge CW will be addressing everything required to get the performance levels back up to what we know and expect.

2 games left, lots of very interesting fixtures for those around us. This is brilliant, Im loving it.

My thoughts exactly, top post.

good to see a little perspective. we win our two remaining games and we will have accumulated sixty premier league points. sixty!

That’s why twitter and such nonsense isn’t for me. It gives a voice to those that shouldn’t have one. My internal monologue is way better.

Life is like a box of chocolate, the blades have been quality street amongst Ferrero Rocher, UTB

I just don’t get why. Every team in the world plays badly and doesn’t turn up sometimes.

It hardly ever happens with this team though and they were clearly knackered. We played a good team and got outplayed.

Sometimes you just have to say “that was rubbish lads and we just need to be better next week.”

There's a difference between simply playing badly and playing badly and not putting 100% effort in.

So with it looking now like even 4 points from the last 2 isnt enough to finish above Spurs, what happens if Wolves finish 7th but win the Europa? They'd be in the Champions League but does that mean a Europa place for finishing 8th or not?
