I actually thought Henderson, Egan and Basham played well. I thought the substitutes did make a positive difference and I thought Fleck and Norwood had reasonable, if not sparkling, games.
 
Agree 100% with what CW said in that interview and the manner in which it was said. I don't see any problem with him giving them a bollocking in the interview. He speaks from the heart and says it like it is - it's called tough love - and he wants to shake them up and realise tonight's performance was nowhere near good enough.

Agree there, Lunny has looked a reight mardy arse ever since Berge came in - even when he scored he was posing. He’ll be gone and would do well to remember how the last person who tried to play billy big bollocks with CW ended up. I expect him to be in the Championship next year. Mousset is just so frustrating- real talent but just too flaky to be a Sheffield United player.
 
Absolute bang in interview!

see a few comments saying Wilder got done tactically, load of bollocks! If the players are at it and we lose so be it! We lost tonight because we didn’t do the simple things like work harder than them. And two Leicester were very good.
Every win we have had is because we have outworked the opposition if we don’t do that then we lose. That has zero to do with tactics, Wilder didn’t tell them to not compete and that’s what we did. We didn’t compete, luckily this doesn’t happen too often so let’s get onto the next game.
 
I think tonight highlighted the need for a player(s) that can give us something different and that bit of a creative spark.

The half time subs gave us nothing more than a bit of huff and puff in attack. Someone who can play as a number 10 is the priority signing we need along with a keeper.

That's a load of bollocks yeah this game looked like we couldn't be bothered and couldn't get out of second gear but for 80 percent of the season they have worked there socks off and that's why we are where we are. Not sugar coating it as wilder said a below par performance but dont think we should be putting the dressing room down like that goes either one of 2 ways from here now either he gets a reaction or the dressing room could be lost. My son sent me a text saying, Have you seen the wilder interview?

He says... I am a big fan of his candid honesty, But there are parts of what he keeps saying that I’m not sure will do us good in the long term.

I don’t think I’ve seen an interview where he doesn’t say that we are a league one team and essentially can’t compete. I mean, we are in the premier league 8th in the table... when do they become premiership players? That’s what I’d be thinking as a player right now. It might be true, but is there no element of man management in his tact? maybe he’s trying to get Lunny etc. to back down on their pay rises they are likely going in for?

He says the same every time though, the media love his honesty, ”We are playing against world class players” is another one of his faves. The players have done really well but they don’t need the manager to keep telling them that they are League 1 players and need to play at the top of there game to get a result, I mean he is correct, but does it always need saying? these players are playing out of their skin.

CW and is staff and players are doing us proud, if he needs premier players then he should see the Prince and buy premiership players and pay premiership fees and wages! I must admit I tend to tune off sometimes because it’s like listening to a broken record.
 
i fully understand why wilder said what he said because he determined to keep standards high. like in home game v Leicester when we matched them & they beat us because of pass mistake & august goal of the month. he was confused why we clapped them off

but i would defy any team to find at tougher run than Man Utd Arsenal Burnley Tottenham Wolves Chelsea Leicester.
thats 7 top 10 sides consecutively. whether its mental or physical its 1 bad day against quality opposition. Monday will come around quickly & 4pts should be enough for 7th

Great interview - exactly what you want to hear after that performance.
Only thing that worries me was him alluding to we “won’t see much change next season”. Hopefully reading too much into it but sounds like funds are at a premium. Maybe just more Wilder transfer tactics....

He clearly doesn't accept it and isn’t going to let the players get ahead of themselves in the belief that they’ve “made it”.
 
I do like to hear daddy yell.

HOWEVER.

I think it was a bit harsh. They’ve got some great players and Jamie Fucking Vardy upfront who I thought probed us and caused us problems all night long.

It was absolute make or break for their season tonight. They came out the blocks and played with such intensity. We’ve won games this season because teams have not matched our intensity. These guys set the tempo and pace of the game, and their quality won them the game.

Rodgers outthought wilder in the return leg at the Lane by nullifying our wing backs with their full backs and a wonder goal and a mistake won them the game. It was a different approach tonight, and ndidi bossed us. They allowed us a lot of the ball at the half way line and approaching the final 3rd and hit us on the break with great effect. We just couldn’t unlock a very well organised determined defence. He changed it significantly with little effect to the game ultimately.

We just didn’t have enough tonight, we huffed and puffed and I think if we equalised with THAT corner I don’t think we’d have really deserved to be level on balance of play.

I think it was a bit harsh on the players to slate them, as 1) they’ve been largely great this season and 2) it would have been asking them to play absolutely out of their skin to unlock that defence tonight.

Don’t mind him doing it though.
 
They were missing half their team and it could’ve been 5 or 6 nil. We know our team should be much better than that and we don’t have lockdown as an excuse tonight. Wilder wants the right attitude and he’s took tonight as an opportunity to hammer home some important things to his players
 
CW has done exactly the right thing on having a pop at them for the poor performance yesterday. If you accept that level of performance and don't call it out for being unacceptable, then you will start to see more and more of the same as the player's will decide when they can be arsed to turn up or not on the day, and it will all be OK as the manager won't call them out for it.

Bollox to that. CW had reminded them in no uncertain terms that they aren't that gifted as players whereby they can just turn up for PL games, put in half arsed performances, and still be good enough to come away with something. As he says, we have to be at our best (effort wise) to stand a chance of getting something from the game. They didn't and could have been on the end of a right hiding if it wasn't for Hendo.

CW called it exactly right, and I liked the fact that he said he wasn't bothered about past results, hes only interested about the one we've just played. He said everything I wanted him to say about the players, after that performance.

Think Wilder could have done something about it but when the players are that disconnected from each other, it was never going to happen.

Leicester were brilliant at closing every one of our players down, in our faces and yes bullied us all over the pitch and were superb with the ball

They deserve to be in the top 4 and that’s the level of performance they Constantly put in up-to Jan time week in week out
I agree with all Wilder says mental toughness is a constant at this level ours was not there last night

I thought about it last night after seeing the interview and wondered was the particular reaction because Chris thought to himself this might be my best/only shot/nearest I ever get to a genuine shot at Champ league ??

By that I mean we have all seen several interviews where he talks about Burnley and how they are a great model for us to aim for etc etc

It was just a strange reaction after such a great set of results recently where yes we were second best but the performance didn’t at least look worse than Newcastle or Man Utd, and by strange I mean the reaction clearly questioned the players attitude after 1 bad game following on from 4 good performances

I just wonder and nothing more if Chris saw something during the days after Chekski win that didn’t sit right, he possibly thought he overacted and the lads will show me Thursday and they didn’t
 
Wilder always always wants what’s is best for the club and its supporters. For that he expects highly paid, professional footballers to always always play to the best of their abilities.

Most of them didn’t last night. He was spot on in calling them out.
 



Typical Alex Ferguson/Mourinho tactic. Control the narrative.

Don't let obfuscation set in. Get out front and throw someone under the bus (referee, players, opposition, owners) and control the narrative!

He must read a lot of Jocko Willink too!
