Must admit that since KB has gone it has been like a breath of fresh air and that will only continue as Speed grows into the role. Carver will be a decent appointment as he has a reputation as a good first-team coach and should slowly let us change the style of football - it really was so turgid under Blackie.

Also expect the fans to get behind the team as Speed tries to implement some slow, incremental change up until Christmas. We desperately need some pace down the flanks and a decent left-back, sounds like there'll be some movement in the transfer window at some point soon.

All in all I'm really buzzing, hopefully Speedo can get us up into the top ten around Christmas and push on from there.

He'll bring in a left winger after that I think. I can see him reverting back to 4-4-2 but we shall see. Cant see him buying another striker but who knows????
UTB

Surely Speed will see that we do urgently need another striker? A flair player with the pace to get in behind defences and the skill to beat a man. A large part of the entertainment factor we've been missing recently is that we only have Ward with any sort of skill and pace. There's usually a buzz of excitement goes around the ground when Ward gets the ball but who else in the current squad can offer that? Whatever sort of transfer budget Speed is being given, I hope he's planning to spend a large portion of it on a pacy, skilful, goalscoring striker. Entertainment, excitement and results will then take care of themselves.

Simonsen
New RB Nosworthy Morgan Jordan
Ward Ertl Britton Yeates
Cresswell New CF

Subs:- Aksalu, Kozluk, Bartley, Montgomery, Quinn, Evans, Bogdanovic
Others:- Lowton, Chappel, James
Injured:- France, Williamson, Walton, Henderson

How do you know? What if we lose our next 3 matches and the fans start to get on his back?

He could be gone before Christmas.

It could well happen but i doubt it, Even Robson got until February and he was hugely unpopular. There's nothing like the same level of expectation now, and i reckon even if the results aren't great Speed will be safe, unless we are looking likely candidates for the drop.

It would be a nice start if Speed played people in their actual positions as opposed to making do and hoping. We all saw how that worked with Johnny Ertl, a right back this lad is not!

It probably wouldn't be a popular move first up but I'd replace Britton with Ertl for Sunday, give us a bit more bite in the centre of the park if we were going 4-4-2. Either that or have them both with Monty in a midfield three, with Yeates on the left and Ward right and Cresswell on his own up top.

One thing is for sure, Quinn needs to be on the bench, preferably in Graves Park. His performance last Saturday was a disgrace, flouncing around and passing the buck all afternoon.

I think you're optimistic to think he'll drop Montgomery!
