I'd be staggered if City aren't in the Champions League next year.

Equally staggered if Pigs get deducted any points this year, they'll start on minus whatever next year if anything.

“The Pigs Season in a nutshell: Initial good start as the Pashun and momentum from last season means they will start well and pick up a few points. Then the reality of the fact that they’re in a mesters league and the massive step up in quality will hit them. Their squad isn’t remotely good enough to cope with Saturday/Tuesday every week and I don’t think their world class strike force will have scored 10 goals between them by Christmas, leaving them in the bottom 3. Cue the suicidal calls to Pigs & Grumble saying Tufty has taken them as far as he can and that he isn’t a Championship Manager. Prince Bog Roll and McSue will then frantically cobble some money together and they’ll sign some more nobodies on the cheap before going down with a lower points total than the mini pigs. It’s going to be hilarious.

There's your answer folks :)
And that was about us in the championship.

Imagine their pain right now. 😂

Two clubs awaiting judgements that could have a significant effect on their futures - and both with potential knock-on effects for United.

If Cas uphold the punishment imposed on Man City they'll be banned from European competition for two years. That pushes the qualifying or Europe another place down and increases our chances of qualification.

If the EFL impose a points deduction on Wednesday that will push them into the relegation zone with only a few games to play. It seems pretty unlikely that they'd be able to pull themselves back out, especially if it's a significant number of points. Relegation could cast them adrift for many years just as United are in the ascendency, cementing our dominance in the city.

So, if you had to chose only one of those options - which would you prefer?

Good question - no problem with the answer though - it has to be Wednesday.

relegation and the apparent introduction of some sort of salary cap will force Wednesday to compete on a level playing field against the other clubs - they couldn't "buy" themselves out of the division - they would have to earn it.

That would take some doing as it would come down to bringing in a manager/coach with the ability to create a team - something that they have failed miserably at since relegation from the top flight at the back end of last century. They will of course get out eventually, but wouldn't it be absolutely fantastic to throw 6 YEARS back at them as well as hopefully their first team having to play out academy team (assuming we ever get CAT 1 status) in the league cup.

Couldn’t give a fuck what happens to the pigs.

Don’t buy the argument that Man City being suspended means we don’t qualify for a Europe on merit. They’ve broken FFP to gain a sporting advantage and are being handed a sporting punishment.

It’s exactly the same principle as a red card for a professional foul. If you beat a side with 10 men it doesn’t mean the win is somehow less worthy.

As long as the points deducted is enough to send them down, down down, deeper and down and to stagnate for ten years between the bottom two divisions, god I feel good after that

I think they may have been correct on 1 point! Our world class strike force, not sure they had scored 10 by Christmas, but 51 points from 34 games is good enough for me!

Bearing in mind they have 1 point more, from 8 more games, in a much poorer league!
