Agree with that. Didz looked much more effective and comfortable playing in the number 10 position. He’s not a striker and everything about his body language suggests that he hates playing there.I agree. I think this season, McG is filling the gap that has been vacated by Duffy - not in his style of play, but in the areas he is occupying and bridging the gap between midfield and attack.
I think we need a busy forward to play with him with plenty of pace and movement - hence why he looks best with the Moose. I really wish Moose had the fitness and attitude of Billy to go with his natural ability. Such a shame that he's always struggling for fitness and doesn't seem to have a consistent 90mins in him
If we could get Ings & Woods for £50 million I would be amazed if they were not the answer to our lack of goals. If only.......

Ridiculous statement in today's market, you often talk sense but on this occurrence I think you are wrong. You would not get 1 for £50 million, let alone them both.

Burnley would carry CW here for less that £50 million, & considering Southampton's finances I am sure they would also. Werner is £53 million & these 2 are his equal in value you say, no chance! Maybe not both 1 for that price but 1 definitely.
Burnley would absolutely sell Wood for less than £50mil, barmy statementThe 'value' of Wood and Ings has nothing to do with the £53 million value of Werner.
If Burnley and Southampton refuse to accept £53 million for them, then yes, their 'value' is higher than Werner.
The Van Dijk and Maguire transfers would have made this point more obvious.
Maguire is nowhere near the level of Van Dijk, but cost more.

Ings maybe would fetch that
He's 29 at the end of the year, and you think he's going to sell for more than Leroy Sane? Why would they sell Wood for less than £50 million, but not Tarkowski?
Goal scorers are always worth more than defenders.

There's no way Burnley would get £50million for Chris WoodCallum Wilson was about to turn 28 when Bournemouth demanded £60 million.
"You think Maguire is going to sell for more than Van Dijk?".........Said the Manchester United fans.
I'll say it again. Burnley, if they don't want to sell, they will demand an extortionate fee for him.
There's no way Burnley would get £50million for Chris Wood
Not changing no debate chief. They wouldn't get, nor would they ask for £50mil. If they did ask for it, it'd be negotiated down to the 30's.See now you're changing the debate....I never once said they would.

If I recall back before COVID 19 came and ruined it all, McBurnie played a few games a little deeper and looked decent. Odd that our 2 most expensive forwards have played so little together. As pairings go, I'd rather McGoldrick/Billy + McBurnie/Mousset than the pairing of Billy/McBurnie and McGoldrick/Mousset.McBurnie and Mousset has to be worth a try but I'm absolutely certain we'll never see it.
Burnley were also about to run out of money this year, well publicised. So the market has flipped entirely.I remember being told that deal for Maguire would be 'negotiated' down.
Leicester said from day one that £80 million was the fee they wanted, Man United tried to negotiate for weeks, he eventually went for £80 million.
The selling clubs hold so much more of the power these days.
Burnley wanted £50 million for Tarkowski - They were not negotiated down.
Bournemouth wanted £60 million for Wilson - They were not negotiated down.
