Jack Robinson’s mega throw-ins

Did anyone else notice Jack Robinson being able to take some incredible throw-ins yesterday?
They put the arsenal defence under a lot of pressure, yet it seems like the first game where we’ve utilised them.

The Rory Delap comparison is inevitable and the hard of thinking will assume that everything about us = Stoke City, in fact it’s happening already.

I seem to recall that Pulis was the first manager to use Delap’s long throw. A reporter asked a previous manager, I think at Derby, why he’d never utilised his long throw to which he replied he didn’t know he had one!

One other thing I noticed from yesterday's game, I think it was Robinson who, when on the left side of the pitch in his own half, played a superb pass to the right side of the pitch close to their corner. It had the lot, accuracy, changed play thus causing the opposition to be on their toes...my apologies for the lack of information, just thought it worth a mention. A good signing is Robinson it seems.

It would be good to see Robinson at Wingback and tuck Stevens inside for a few games, we’ve yet to see Robinson play his natural position yet, he can only get better.

He’s stated that centre-back is his preferred position, and though he is versatile enough to play LB/LWB, it’s LCB Wilder stated he’s been signed for. If Stevens is for some reason unavailable, Osborn would replace him (and has done well when called upon). We won’t be seeing Robinson at wingback when the two options ahead of him for that role are available.

I didn’t know that’s what’s been said LB.

After seeing him play a few times I just thought his best and natural position would be LB or LWB, after seeing him play for us and whilst he’s done ok, I still personally think that’s the case.

Always been partial to a long throw, until Robinson we've not had anyone who can take a good one since Greg Halford.
I remember first game of the season in 2008 when he launched the ball past the penalty spot and people were looking at each other and a collective "woaahhh" went round the ground.

Who was the last player we had to have that ability,was it Kozluk.

Kyle Walker had a ‘medium/long’ throw that we used from time to time. Kozluk was crap, the ball always used to slip out of his hands from memory.

I love a long throw, as a 6ft 5in centre half back in the day I scored at least 5 goals a season by having a kid with a long throw in the team.

I could also reach the penalty spot with a throw from level with the 18 yard box but I could rarely be arsed to run up and take the throws.

You could well be right but he did score from a similar position at Brentford? away the other year so you can see why he’d try a pop at goal, it was set up perfectly for him from Berge.
