When we got up to the championship we started well but eventually we fell a bit short as we had to adjust to that division.
Same again now in the prem. Started well but Chris and Alan taking in the few flaws in our squad. I have no doubt that CW will address this and next season CW will be taking the squad forward again. We need to be adding 10 points a season as we build

CW changed/updated the entire spine of the team - in effect we pushed the boat out with buying/funding 4 players who went on to make the team what it was. It was a significant change to season 1.

I'd advocate 4 players to go straight into our 1st team for next season - I doubt we could afford either the purchases and/or wages of such a significant change again.

For certain, CW/AK have significant thinking/work to do - the next few player decisions could be vital to our immediate future.

And we shouldn’t forget that we sold a player many felt we should be building around (Brooks) to fund it - with an accompanying minor melt-down on here.

There’s no doubts that there’s a big step forward needed - it’s equally likely that we might have to lose something we hold dear to make it happen.

I’m happy to keep the faith and go along with the ride though.

In his recent interviews Wilder has appeared to be hesitant and struggling to string a coherent sentence together.

He either sounds like a man with a lot on his mind or a man that's losing his mind.

Let's hope that it's the former and that he manages to come up with the right answers.

Just like with players, success at lower levels is not always replicated at the very highest level.
Too early to tell whether Wilder is capable of managing at this level in the long term.


I'd look at giving him some help by bringing someone in who can give him more advice at signings from abroad.

The pressure increases as the amount of.money both at stake and being spent does. I think Wlider can cope but the 50m we have spent on Berg, McBurnie and Moose hasn't paid dividends yet. The 3 of them need to push on next seaon and we need 3 or 4 new players on top who will need to add almost immediately to the effort.

I'm glad somebody asked that; it's the difference between our lads working at 100% for 90 minutes and the more leisurely styles of other clubs who rely more on individual talent.

Needing 4 players able to go straight into first team is the very reason why so many of us expected 2 of them to be our 2 x £20m signings.
The fact that McB has not made himself an automatic starter + that Berge doesn't have a clear role has lead to serious doubts.
I reckon we have only enough money to acquire 2 first teamers now + 1 of them has to be a goalie.
That leaves us with the daunting prospect of only 1 addition to the 11 - which gives us very little wiggle room.

Its no insult to.say that they are a bunch of misfits ,maybe if some of you realised that you wouldn't act like big cry baby's when they lose a couple of games in a league they are monetarily ranked as the minnows

Not fitness, we are probably the fittest team in the league.
Tactics, yes.
Ability, we are a good team much greater than the sum of the parts (whereas others rely more on talented individuals) but when you are coming up against the Man Utds of this world we'll struggle, even Villa and Newcastle have individuals who if we could get them to buy into our work ethic and tactics would improve the team.

Not sure how to say this a different way:
We are fit.
We need to be very fit for the way we play our game.
It's been very hot it wears you out quicker.

Perhaps the lads need to ease of the fitness aspect more before a game so they have more energy for the actual game. I don't know I don't have all the tracking info on them and I don't have any fitness training qualifications (although I am still an active competitor looking after myself); I'm trying to offer a reason for why United are playing badly rather than just saying, 'they couldn't be arsed,' which I'm sure isn't true with the rewards on offer.

I bet JOC/Fleck/Didsy/Stevens/Baldock etc are charmed to be labelled misfits.
