Ben Osborn and Luke Freeman

Got to be worth a start surely? Both have performed despite very limited game-time.

Freeman is comfortable carrying the ball and more dynamic than the static midfield we’re opting for. Stevens has been is abysmal form so might be for the best long-term if he sits one out for Osborn
Every time they bring L. Freeman on he seems to bring more energy to the side, surely he's worth a run in the side now.

I’d seriously consider going with both on Sunday, as they’ve started in every round. I think Osborn played the full 120 at Reading in fact, which should alone give him some justification in starting.

I wouldn't discourage any changes to the line up after recent displays. Freeman has always looked bright and full of energy during the brief playing time he's had.

Thought he was unlucky to lose his place to Fleck early season.

If they can't get a chance now, they never will.

We could do with keeping both next season.

We need to give them a proper incentive to stick around.

Agreed, Fleck and Stevens received the courtesy from Wilder of a chance to respond to the Newcastle game at Old Trafford. They didn't in the main.

If Osborn in particular doesn't get a game then he'll be wondering why he bothered coming.

I’m sure that Freeman would have come on for Lunny on Wednesday if he wasn’t being kept fresh for Sunday. Lunny was literally out on his feet and I was staggered that Wilder didn’t sub him but then the penny dropped.....

I think it’s about time they were both given a chance... I’d also like to see a more attacking formation adopted.
Something like this with Freeman and Didzy roaming across the frontline...

If we dared to play with 3 attacking players then Berge would have to be given the chance to play as part of the double pivot he's used to.

Berge Fleck

Freeman McGoldrick

McBurnie

I wouldn't drop Stevens, one of our best players this season. If JOC is still out I'd push him in and also okay osborn.

Never mind Ben Osborn, I'd be happy to see Ozzy Osbourne in place any of a number of our players on Sunday - at least we'd see a bit of bite on the pitch.

I agree with you. I’m desperate to see him pick the ball up outside our box and carry it deep into the other half!
But I had to go with our proven vice captain on this occasion.

Stevens is definitely one of our best players. However, he was injured before COVID and has come back in terrible form. Osborn was playing really well and for me deserves a chance. Stevens, like any other player needs to win back his shirt. Otherwise our squad players are going to wonder what’s the point in being here??!!

I'd like freeman to play in the 10 role, no problem with him then reverting to L or R cm when we don't have the ball, Duffy did that last season. Plus, wasn't freeman released by arsenal as a kid? So he will have something more to prove.

I like this take on it...

We won't change formation.or tactics as they don't have time to work on it in.training due to.the two days recovery after each game

Stevens would be the first off the team sheet for me. Absolute calamity at the back the last 3 games, just because he’s been good for the first half of the season doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be dropped when his performances are abysmal. Osborn should deffo get the nod.

I just can't imagine us not playing Fleck!

Freeman was brought in to play the duffy role but we don't play the formation anymore god knows why

They've both been pretty much ever present in cup games so far, so definitely deserve to start

I’d play them both, especially if JOC isn’t fit.
Stevens at CB, Osborn at LB and Freeman behind Didsy + one other

Can defiantly see why wilder went with the flat 3 this year. Pre lockdown when we were at our best and the CB were bombing on, we’d get torn to shreds on the counter at this level

Some people suggesting dropping Stevens? Really?

Our back line is disrupted enough as it is. Plus, he's by far one of our top 3 players. Two mediocre games and people are calling for him to be dropped?!? What the Holy mother of fuck?!?!

Freeman maybe if we can find a formation to get him and Fleck into the team.

But Stevens?

It’s sounding more and rogermoore likely that we will have the full compliment to select our back 5 from.
I don’t think anyone is knocking Enda, pretty sure everybody rates him and understands how vital he is to this team.
My take is though that Osborn was all set to get a run in the team before the break. He’s played well In every game when selected. Enda is in awful form so I think Osborn deserves a chance. Enda will come back to form of that I’ve no doubt. But how would you feel if you was Osborn right now? I know I’d feel like I didn’t have a future at the club if I still wasn’t getting selected when the guy in front of me is playing well below his best.
