Just watched Bash’s interview after the game, and it almost brought me to tears. I have never seen a player so gutted and feeling that they had let everybody down. For a guy who never leaves anything out there and who is normally such a bundle of fun it was gut wrenching to watch - especially at the end when he looks down at the ground - says “is that it then” and just walks away.

We are so lucky to have 2 guys like Bash and Billy who put the club first, above everything else.

I can't fault Basham much since the restart. Poor bloke looked like he might cry yesterday, felt for him.

He wasnt very good yesterday but neither were the others

Bash is as honest as the day is long and looked liked he would cry himself.

I love his effort, and that of Billy of course. But desire and effort aren't enough on their own.

We need quality as well. We have had that for most of the season, but not in the last 3 games.

Great pro, but his lack of quality was there for all to see yesterday, was no where near for all 3 goals. We need to find replacements for Bash and a few others as it stands.

Bash is fine when he has a competent couple of partners with him in defence. He's been fine this season.

I would however like to see a younger RCB come in and challenge him while he's still at the club because it's going to take some serious time to get used to the role.

But we can’t just leave that position back upless and the quicker someone comes in to learn the system the better

I thought Retsos was the man for that.

Love Basham, tries his heart out and his forward runs sometimes just have players standing back amazed at how he does it.

He’s been our best player over 3 games and consistently excelled over the season if we have to replace Bash because he’s not good enough then we have to replace the whole squad.

Putting performance levels individually and collectively to one side for a moment.

That interview reveals much about the vibe and mood in the camp at the moment.

Lacking confidence.
Mentally shattered.
Possibility that the overall harmony of the group is not what it has been (perhaps as a direct result of the above). I repeat, possibility.

Wilders 100% at it at all times has to be questioned. They aren’t machines after all.

Problem is, I reckon it’s a big reason for our success all things considered.

Impossible conundrum !!
