That's now 3 games in a row where the players have looked, I hate to say it, disinterested. At first I thought the plan today was maybe to sit in and give it a real go but even at 1-0 down we neither sat back and battled or went for it. Besides a couple of 5 mins today spells we rarely pushed into their half and as good as Pogba, Fernades Martial are going forward there is no doubt that Lindelof and Shaw in a particular are there to be got at.

I've no issue going to Old Trafford and losing I do have an issue losing 3-0 with our first shot on target coming in the 81st minute and the players not getting stuck in. Don't get me wrong this season has been great its just dissipating that from the position we put ourselves in pre lockdown we haven't been able to kick on. I'd sooner we had lost all three games and gone for it but we seem to have done neither. Take both City games as evidence of this where we just beaten by the better team but battled for everything.

Its 31 degrees

I think'most football fans understand the annoyance of being on the end of a wrong decision, it's happened to every club in multiple games.

But I also imagine most football fans believe that the cries of 'corruption' are just as embarrassing as the performance of the referees/technology at Villa.
On both sides of the pitch it’s 31 degrees
Just 18 degrees for Man Utd then?
Manchester United were playing in front of their fans, and haven't just had a three month lay-off either.
My players are raring to go... they have come back fitter than they were before the break.... the amount of matches doesn't bother us....
I could accept that if the players worked their arses off and were out on their feet at the end but that clearly wasn’t the case as to only 3 subs were used.
I absolutely despair at ignorance of this magnitude
Do you think.we have got to where we are by having better players than man utd ?

Man.utd played at walking ng pace tonight knowing we couldn't press them.
What do you people watch ? The score ?

So in answer to my point...

Why if it was 31 degrees and too hot to press even look arsed why weren’t all 5 subs used ?

'I didn't get where I am today by having players that are better than Man Utd's...'

We were outclassed ,simple as that ,I don't doubt the effort but 3 away games in a week a couple of disruptions and up against a rapidly improving man u and we got away with 3-0 ,we move on no shame in being outclassed.

Does the temperature drop the more subs you put on ?
Well I'd sooner have Stevens work his arse off for 60 mins at 31 degrees and have to be taken off than have him, Baldock and Fleck look like statues for 90 mins to "conserve" energy. I'm not disputing Man United have far better players than us and there is no shame in losing to them, just the manor in which we lost which is frustrating having heard that the players were raring to go and fitter than they were going into the season.

I appreciate we were scared of their pace on the counter but we've lost without having had a go. We may as well have pushed on and lost 5-1 5-2 and seen what happened, we never gave ourselves a chance.

Not even any tackles flying in, we just let most of their players walk straight through us.

Against Villa it was 1 away game in a week and there was no desire to fight for it, against Newcastle it was 2 away games in a week and still no desire to fight for it. Yes, tonight isn’t the main issue, we were always likely to get beat and I can accept defeat, what I can’t accept is the lack of desire, the lack of fight. It’s what got us here, it’s what’s got us results this season when we haven’t been the better team and we’ve not shown it once since the restart.

That's the thing Wilder himself has said Blades applaud a big tackle as much as a goal and would have been nice for someone Fleck, Lundstram even Bash to lay down a marker early doors and show that we weren't going to roll over but we did. That said I'm not convinced Fleck is at all fit and does beg the question why Freeman isn't playing but I have mentioned this on other threads.

Expected Fleck or Lunny to stick a few in.

I dont think we put a hard challenge in all evening. It was powder puff and played at pre season friendly tempo....again.

Praise where due, Utd have been fantastic this season, but also criticism where due also, and since we have come back, we have hardly fashioned a chance, had no defensive shape, no shots on target in 3 games and been well beaten in 2 out of 3 games. Since the return we have been total dog shite and more importantly, most of the players have looked completely uninterested. Some of the lack of tracking back to get a foot in as their players played neat give and goes, was astounding.

They deserve a right rocket up their collective arses tonight as the lack of effort tonight (not so much the result) was simply appalling. There is a way to win and a way to lose. They failed miserably at the latter tonight, despite the 3 nil scoreline.

I’ve seen plenty of comments about ‘mission accomplished’ regarding the fact that we’ve avoided relegation and that we should be happy with where we are but if we had played all season like we’ve played the last 3 games then we would’ve been relegated on a record number of low points. Yes we should be happy with the situation overall but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t criticise when it’s necessary
