watched a bundesliga game on Saturday , well 3 actually and the one involving Bayern played crowd noises including goal celebrations and it was eminently more watchable
It was a general crowd rumbling noise but actually worked very well
Is like watching movies that are greatly enhanced by mood music , this brought the game as a spectacle into focus
Was a bit sceptical beforehand but it did the trick

the other games without the crowd noise seemed very sterile

think it was better for the players too , was quite enjoyable

I'm sure they add a bit of whoopin' and hollerin' on Strictly Come Dancing. Nobody in their right mind is that enthusiastic.
I wouldn't be surprised if crowd noises have been added to footie matches in the past (on the TV highlights).

I don't know if I was imagining it, but I'm sure I kept hearing a refs whistle peeping(parping, trilling??) On the crowd noise track and more than once wondered what it was for, or why play had continued.

I watched a few games that had crowd noise this weekend, there seems to be a good version and a crap version.

I watched one that wasn't interacting with what was happening at all, and had balls being kicked and ref whistles every few seconds and it was off-putting and generally shite.

Then I watched another that had booing and hissing when the home team gave a foul away or got a player booked, roars when someone scored etc - that was a lot better.

If they have the latter, it's fine, although I think listening to the players and managers is an interesting opportunity.

I think half the beauty of being at the Lane is the bizarre shite you hear yelled out during a game, often funny, often fucking mental, occasionally a twat. So, I'm all for the crowd noises but only if they're authentically weird and in proper accents
