What happens if 5 first team players all get corona and have to quarantine ?
Will matches be postponed ?

If they have any nounce about them they will be self isolating as much as possible.

If its a player in the bottom 6 or so they will have been all over that Bournemouth beach this weekend just gone grabbing rays and a dose of the virus to get the matches off.

This has apparently already been discussed at the Prem meetings and has been reported by some journalists.

The 20 clubs have been told apparently that if you have 14 players - 11 to start and 3 subs out of the squad of 25 then that constitutes a team to start and therefore finish a game.

So that accounts for 11 in total out of a squad of 25.. Yes, it's tough shit on any team in that situation, but clubs have apparently been told/agreed to the principal of finishing the season by playing games.

It's therefore in the best interests of clubs to keep them healthy.

Been watching snooker for last 2 days and how they are going about this is rather good. Each player arrives the day before they are due to play and are immediately tested. They have to stay in their room until the test comes back negative and so far no one has tested positive. Wonder if they could do something along these lines with football to make sure everything is safe.

Based on the average infection at about 1 in 400 people being infected at any one time, a club would have to be very unlucky to find itself in this situation

Just because you test negative it doesn't mean that you're not carrying the virus and can't transmit it.

That's why you can't just get a test if the tracking people call you and tell you to isolate.

Even though you test negative you could have the virus and be able to spread it for up to 14 days.

What would our worst 14 be (don't be shy) and how would they line up?
Got to think about this one myself...

Agreed - which is why I don't think the OP situation would happen.

Reports today suggest some prem clubs are checking family members to ensure that when players go home they are not going into a possibly infected house.

I’d guess our worst possible XI of the available registered players would be:

Verrips
K.Freeman Retsos Jagielka Robinson Osborn
Rodwell Basham L.Freeman
Clarke Zivkovic

Dont think thats quite right somehow.

You can only get a test if you have signs of symptoms thats why you cant get a test not because the tracking people call you, who are too busy watching Netflix anyway to call you for £400 a week.

That can not be true or they would not be letting the premier league go on etc and would make the test useless anyway. Dont remember the government saying if you test positive you have the virus if you test negative you might still have got the virus!

still need 3 more for subs and that's where the team starts getting stronger. ie 3 of these drop to the bench and 3 better players come in- still terrifying though.
